THE ROLE

SQL Developer 

closerlook’s SQL Developer will collaborate with the other members of the closerlook team to provide both new custom solutions and support of existing .NET and SQL Server web and automated console solutions. Responsibilities include handling more complex shorter-term requests for data that support reporting and marketing initiatives and assist in architecting long-term tools and processes to enable self-service access to data.  This position will work with stakeholders to enhance, design, and construct new data-related processes and applications.

It is key for the SQL Developer to have a passion for working with data, specifically working with T-SQL and the Microsoft BI-Stack (SSIS, SSRS and SSAS).  They must also have a solid understanding of the data applications used by other competencies, including Tableau and other analytical systems. 

This is an important role that will work with various competencies to deliver solutions to both our clients and internal teams.

DUTIES

  • Assist in architecting long-term tools and design processes to enable self-service access to data.
  • Maintain and independently suggest improvements to current ETL processes and other applications.
  • Contributes to and executes best practices of data management for the agency.
  • Work with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Technical Architects and Application Designers to help define the data requirements and structure for business intelligence (BI) applications.
  • Provides technical support to project team members.
  • Assist in the creation of a robust, sustainable architecture that supports requirements and provides for expansion.
  • Willing to learn emerging technologies.

 REQUIREMENTS

  • BS. in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics.
  • Two or more years of demonstrated experience in writing and maintaining complex T-SQL, including stored procedures.
  • Two or more years of experience with the Microsoft BI Stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Identify and provide supporting documentation of procedures and requirements.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Experience on technical projects with limited supervision and with strong attention to details.
  • Experience with C#.NET on Web or console applications is a plus.
  • An interest in statistics and marketing is a plus.
  • Knowledge of non-Microsoft analytic tools or processes (such as Tableau, R, Predictive Modelling, etc.) is a plus.
  • Prior experience with CRM systems and process is a plus.
