Summary:

Under general supervision (but works independently most of the time) responsible for handling and processing transactions for the Securities Lending group. Demonstrates a clear understanding of the securities lending product and the process flow followed. You will be working in the Securities Lending Canadian Collateral team and responsible for daily collateralization of Canadian borrowers. This role will follow the Canadian Holiday market schedule. The Securities Operations practice is dedicated to the highest quality service in a controlled environment and in an efficient manner.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Maintain collateralization levels across borrowers.
  • Speak with external counterparties as well as trading desk to coordinate the collateralization of daily Securities Lending activity.
  • Facilitate the settlement of new loan and return activity.
  • Monitor daily exceptions and be knowledgeable on how to resolve those exceptions.
  • Understand market rules and cutoff times.
  • Carries out complex activities with significant financial, client, and / or internal business impact.
  • Able to serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor to other more junior level employees.
  • May manage daily operational activities and supervise day-to-day work of junior level employees (but not a formal management role).
  • More technically sound in area of expertise and has broader knowledge of other areas.
  • Delivers a work product that requires less revision.
  • Able to facilitate discussions and reach decisions.

Knowledge / Skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required

• In-depth Securities Operations / Industry Knowledge is required

• Highly flexible and adaptable to change

• Works well in team setting and can multi-task

• Time management skills are required as this role is highly sensitive to daily cutoffs

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

A College or University degree and / or relevant Securities Operations work experience is required.
