Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences. Creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements. May participate in cross functional teams to address business issues. Prototypes solutions for displaying information based on business needs. Participates on 3-4 projects per year

For fleet managers managing thousands of machines, the ability to navigate maintenance data easily is key. Enter Morrow and team. Using a design thinking framework incorporating customer feedback and digital prototyping, his team helps improve user experience on tools like My.Cat.Com. “We understand how customers work so we can craft digital tools and processes that fit seamlessly into their work processes,” he said.

I split my efforts between understanding what Caterpillar’s customers are trying to accomplish and designing solutions that will help them achieve their goals.

Deep learning algorithms, popularized in the past five years, allow us to scan huge volumes of data from Caterpillar's fleet of connected engines and machines for unusual patterns. We're now able to make sophisticated predictions that wouldn’t have been possible 20 years ago.
