Role Description:
The Senior Clinical Informatics Specialist (CIS) is a former CIS who serves as a trainer & coach for the CIS + Medical Assistant (CIS/MA) roles with the @Home program. This individual will play a vital role as a population health liaison in the field to ensure teams understand and implement tools properly. This is accomplished in close partnership with central and regional @Home leadership, central CIS leadership and various Treehouse teams.
The Sr CIS is expected to have deep knowledge in key aspects of CIS onboarding & training, workflows, Canopy modules, WRV Reviews & Daily Huddles, with the ability to modify and translate application for the @Home environment. They are also expected to understand how their role and the CIS/MA role impacts the OSH business model in areas, including Clinical Documentation Improvement, and certain components of the Quality Program.
Core Responsibilities:
Leadership Responsibilities
Partner with central and regional @Home leadership to support CIS/MA hiring, onboarding, and staffing (including coverage) as well as ongoing training and evaluation
Serve as population health liason in the field to ensure teams are up to date on all tools (Huddle Form, Care Report, Canopy modules)
Train new providers (within first 90 days) on how to work with and without a CIS/MA
Present monthly training sessions with all CIS/MAs in region (including Bi-annual Grand Rounds training)
Thought partner with central and regional leaders on program development driven by best practices in clinical workflows and documentation hygiene
Partner with central and regional leaders to identify areas of improvement on care team documentation and provider/CIS/MA teamwork and develop an action plan to resolve gaps in knowledge
Alongside Central and Regional leaders, adapt in-center CIS training materials and processes to support CIS/MA training
Ensure providers are equipped with well-trained CIS/MAs so they may care for our patients and execute on clinical documentation accuracy
Ensure all CIS/MAs have the training and workflow support to excel in this dual role
Technical responsibilities
Subject matter expert in all CIS/MA training materials including charting, workflows, clinical documentation improvement (risk adjustment), note compliance, WRV Reviews, Daily Huddles, Canopy and Greenway
Collaborate with central team on new tools and optimization of existing tools (i.e Canopy modules, CIS/MA Training)
Support care teams with WRV review assistance and Daily Huddle preparation
Identify trends in data (ie RAF, % HCCs addressed, etc), recognize gaps in knowledge and propose strategies and solutions to leadership
Scribe remotely when back-up coverage is needed (max 20-25% of time)
Other:
Understand population health tools/data and how to leverage them when working with teams
Ensure effective collaboration between CIS/MAs, providers, regional and central leaders
Other duties as assigned
