DESCRIPTION

 

Develop and test statistical model specifications to meet client needs. Perform research design using statistical software and other analytical tools, regression analysis, SAS programming, and SQL. Apply independent judgment in creating new statistical models, analyzing and connecting model results to client’s business questions and hypotheses. Exercise discretion in deciding whether additional model runs are required, and determine if financial performance measures are reasonable. Describe analysis results, interpret insights and discuss managerial implications with client directly. Review and finalize statistical model results with minimum, high-level feedback from manager. Advise Software Engineering on refinement of software and web services tools. Develop and apply statistical and quantitative analysis, modeling, and optimization. Oversee and provide feedback on modeling progress and deliverables preparation by junior team members. Lead problem-solving for new clients and industry verticals. Oversee work to design, code or compile reader programs that did not exist previously. Perform complex mathematical formulations to solve large scale business problems and conduct time-series analysis. Oversee data processing to prepare for marketing mix analysis, based on understanding of client needs for quantitative analysis of marketing effectiveness. Independently prepare deliverables and presentation decks to report results to clients.  Directly supervise up to 3 (Sr.) Analysts and Managers and indirectly supervise up to 3 (Sr.) Analysts and Managers.  Opportunity to telecommute within the surrounding area up to 5 days per week, as feasible.  Travel domestically up to 6 times per year for 1-2 days per trip.  Tools used include: SAS, SQL, Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

 

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in statistics, econometrics, mathematics, operations research, engineering (industrial, computer or electrical), or related field (foreign equivalent degree acceptable), plus 2 years of experience in complex data modeling and statistical analysis using large and complex data (point-of-sale, customer-level and/or marketing data) (would also accept a bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of post-baccalaureate progressive experience). This must include 1 year of experience with the following: development and application of applied statistical and quantitative analysis and modeling; research design using statistical software and other analytical tools, regression analysis, SAS programming, and SQL; performing mathematical formulations to solve business problems and conduct time-series analysis; writing SAS code to read, audit and review raw input data and create meaningful data transformations to normalize, align and scale data to address specifics of a client’s business; training, providing direction to and reviewing the work of junior analysts and special project teams; managing clients and projects from initiation to implementation; and use of Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint. Opportunity to telecommute within the surrounding area up to 5 days per week, as feasible.  Must be willing to travel domestically up to 6 times per year for 1-2 days per trip.
