The Strategic Intelligence Analyst will enhance Hyatt’s competitive intelligence through business analysis, intelligence, and analytics. This position will support Hyatt’s overall business strategy and guest intelligence programs, and engage in the design of KPI’s and Intelligence systems to track global travel trends, brand performance, guest transitions, and investment white-space. The Strategic Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for data collection, analysis/interpretation, and visualization for decision-making. 

The Strategic Intelligence analyst will be responsible for processing and interpreting data to get actionable insight through a series of tools, including Tableau, Redshift, and ThoughtSpot. This position will primarily be involved in business consultation, analysis, data collection, and hands on programming, data visualization, and support. 

A candidate who combines strong problem formation, data sourcing, analytical, communication, and collaborative skills will do well in this role. This position reports to Director, Strategic Insights and closely work with team members.

 

Experience

  • 1+ years of progressively responsible experience in the technical aspects of Business Intelligence projects using Tableau or similar BI tool.
  • Direct experience with analyzing large volumes of data to derive actionable insights and recommendations.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal and influencing skills; ability to define and capture business needs along with articulating strategic implications of analytic results with clarity and persuasiveness in an audience appropriate manner.

Education

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics or related discipline.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) certification is a plus. Tableau Desktop certification is a plus.

Computer Skills Needed to Perform this Job 

  • Should have advanced visualizations development skills. Some of the key skills are guided analytics, advanced visualizations (quadrants, bullet charts, multiple marks, etc.) and making complex data simple to understand as well as to tell compelling stories

  • The candidate should have strong knowledge of database concepts and SQL

  • Ability to analyze large data sets and provide summary of data analysis and offer possible BI solutions

  • Experienced with creating and running what-if simulations using the data

  • Experience with Tableau, ThoughtSpot, Allteryx is preferred

  • Hands on experience with programming languages is preferred – Python or other programming language

  • Familiarity with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
