Peapod Digital Labs and the Commercial & Vendor Strategy Team are driven by putting the customer at the center of all they do, and are constantly looking for ways to evolve the omnichannel grocery experience. We are a seeking positive, enthusiastic, team orientated individual who wants to work in an entrepreneurial environment to develop and execute high-value strategic initiatives and our overall commercial and vendor strategy plans.

Vendor Strategy Associates work with the Strategy Managers and Leads to:

• Cross-functionally help shape successful business plans and strategic decisions through the assessment of the current environment and marketplace by analyzing various sources of data, researching competitors and leading internal cross-functional conversations
• Develop strategic recommendations for the organization, often developing supporting analytics and presentations
• Participate in key team discussions and to share analysis, viewpoints and rationales
• Assist with various ad hoc analysis, reporting and presentation development, often in partnership with key cross-functional stakeholders

Recipe for Success - What's “in store” for the role

• Work with key stakeholders and cross-functional departments on large initiatives and strategies, creating business cases, financial models, and key analytics in support of critical work (e.g., market scans, internal performance analyses, project plans)
• Create presentations to help drive work forward and gain alignment on critical issues which often will require the art of storytelling within presentations
• Help drive annual strategic planning and integrated business planning process through analysis and research
• Conduct and/or maintain performance scorecards on key strategic initiatives across the organization as well as strategic competitive analysis and trends reporting, sharing insights to Leadership 
• Works with top strategic vendor partners (CPGs, fresh and private brand vendors) to identify strategic initiatives that may be mutually beneficial
• Significant work building meaningful presentations for quarterly meetings with top vendor partners (often involved aggregating metrics from various functions and helping to note key insights)
• Works on large corporate annual vendor facing events
• May support the Commercial Strategy function as times on significant strategic projects

The Essentials In Your Cart - The required ingredients

• Bachelor's degree required (Master’s in Business Administration preferred but not obligatory)
• 2+ years of strategy, process execution in grocery retail industry, CPG experience and/or consulting industry preferred
• Domestic travel required with minimal notice required up to 20% per year
   

Extra Spices - What you should bring to the table

• Existing eCommerce or commercial retail experience is a plus
• Strong financial and business acumen
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Comfortable with ambiguity and project-based work, able to bring focus and structure to drive initiatives forward
• Creative, structured, and objective problem solver, both conceptually and analytically 
• Collaborative, enjoy working on teams, and comfortable leading without authority

• Ability to understand new concepts quickly and work in a fast paced dynamic work environment
• Proven ability to drive organization change based on analysis and recommendations, possessing the ability to quickly analyze data, draw and present conclusions with actionable steps and measure final outcome
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, executives and third parties 
• Ability to lead without authority
• Ability to work within tight timelines, deadlines and on multiple projects
• Works well independently in ambiguous situations and with minimal supervision when required
