About the Role

As the Tech Lead of our Data Connector Delivery team, you will be managing a group of both in-house and dedicated offshore software engineers. This role is both a manager as well as an example of quality and expertise to the team. You will be responsible for evaluating, scoping, estimating, and managing the development of enterprise-grade data connectors our clients use to ingest data into Civis software. You’ll also innovate on frameworks and tools that underpin this development.

What You’ll Do

• Work as part of the Civis Analytics Tech team to ensure the success of our clients and guarantee timely delivery on data ingestion and integration needs.
• Build new or use/extend existing data connectors for outside APIs or data stores.
• Lead a team by guiding the development of team members and their career paths, answering questions and acting as an escalation point, hosting weekly 1-on-1 meetings, providing real-time feedback, and advocating for team needs.
• Directly interface with clients as a member of the engagement team, alongside our Delivery & Customer Success groups.
• Create, train, and support processes that enable consistent, technically viable, and accurate scoping and estimation of customized, extensible data connectors in and across Civis teams.
• Establish, support, and execute best practices around the monitoring, triage, and troubleshooting of client data connectors.
• Act as a subject matter expert and advocate in product stakeholder meetings to ensure we are building solutions to reduce client frustrations in the data ingestion area through the development of quality software and internal tools.

Minimum Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
• 3-5 years supporting and implementing ETL or other forms of data integration with complex software solutions
• Experience leading a team with a focus on ETL or data ingestion/integration
• 3+ years of experience as a software developer/engineer, including experience taking a leading role in technical projects
• Ability to learn new techniques and technologies quickly as our needs change
• Comfort working with complex data schemas and outside vendors including their APIs and/or underpinning data storage systems.
• Demonstrated success understanding client challenges and needs, and mapping them to solutions
• Excellent communication skills and client facing demeanor
• US work authorization

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python
• Experience with Civis Platform
• Experience developing web applications with frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, Django, or Flask
