Associate Creative Director, Creative Technology

The Associate Creative Director, Creative Technology [CT] will lead and inspire the client-facing Creative Technology team in idea development, creative innovation and elevation and technology exploration by setting the vision and standards based on direction from the SVP of Creative. The ACD is able to transform the strategic opportunity into best-in-class creative solutions. Time is focused on strategic input, with historical knowledge to assist with hands-on development of highly dynamic HTML5/JS/CSS3 ad units as well as contributing to highly extensible proprietary frameworks (JS) and code libraries. This role provides strategic leadership within the creative advertising industry. The ACD understands cross-device, cross-browser and cross-platform best practices and has as a passion for advertising.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Able to inspire and influence the Client Creative Technology Team to meet and exceed the expectations of clients and prospects as well as jump in and get hands dirty with code.
• Research and present cutting-edge ideas, methods, design patterns and more to the creative teams and senior level audiences.
• Is skilled in verbally translating highly technical concepts to non-technical audiences, both internal and external.
• Responsible for the performance, growth and development of the Creative Technology team. Includes: hiring/firing, leads direct reports and provides professional development guidance for direct reports and broader team.
• Collaborate with cross teams: designers, client integration engineers and digital producers in the ideation and deployment of flawless client work.
• Accountable for the work including: prioritization, overall quality, source control and technical documentation.
• Effectively troubleshoots issues on the fly while creating scalable, extensible solutions.
• Ability to find resourceful workarounds for technical blockers.
• Advances product development by contributing to an interdisciplinary team including creative, product, engineering, sales and account management.

Skills and Qualifications

• 8+ years experience working as a Creative Technologist (or equivalent) in a digital agency, consultancy or similarly fast-paced environment
• 5+ years experience leading a Creative Team
• Experience managing to revenue goals and client expectations
• Proven adaptability and flexibility
• Strong people leadership background. Ability to identify growth and development opportunities within the creative team to architect future success. Ability to work successfully with and influence cross teams.
• Exceptional communication skills, both internal and external, including conflict management.
• Outstanding personal time-management skills

Technical Requirements

• Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, GIT, BASH and source control
• Firm understanding of ES6, modern JavaScript workflows and automated testing suites
• Firm understanding of responsive design and development
• Expert understanding of animation concepts (GSAP knowledge required)
• Expert knowledge of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) patterns
• Expert knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects
• Experience with agile workflows and their methodologies

• Understanding of future ecma-script features (7, 8) and their support across browsers
