A Magic+Might Associate Creative Director is an enthusiastic problem solver who is prepared to engage through all phases and activities of a project with a can-do mindset. They work closely with the design team to envision how people experience products and bring that vision to life in a way that feels inspired and fresh—even magical. Beyond creative execution, a Associate Creative Director must be an evangelist for Magic+Might’s process and design methodology and must internalize each project’s strategic objectives. They will be expected to craft design solutions that meet those strategic objectives and clearly articulate the design rationale to clients. An ACD receives and interprets creative direction from Creative Directors and leads Associate/Senior Designers. 

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Conceptualizing and designing interactive products and services through sketches, storyboards, wireframes, physical and digital prototypes, screen mockups, and motion design
  • Preparing and presenting client documents (including design reviews)
  • Producing design documentation and supporting design hand-offs with prototyping and implementation teams
  • Helping to plan, conduct, and synthesize research
  • Working independently and proactively with light creative guidance
  • Managing and providing creative direction to the creative team (designers, illustrators, animators, 3D artists, photographers, etc.)
  • Facilitating design critiques
  • Working closely with Directors to manage, grow, and mentor the creative team

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts degree
  • 7+ years of experience in Interactive Visual Design
  • Superior verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Strong ability to self-edit
  • Deep understanding and hand-on experience with of user-centered design methodologies and the product development process
  • Experience designing and implementing large-scale design systems
  • Experience participating in/supporting design research
  • Strong attention to detail and emphasis on work quality
  • Discretionary skill, ability to manage and maintain confidential information and discussions
  • Software Expertise in Sketch, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
  • Bonus Expertise: Principle, InVision, Design System Libraries (Sketch, InVision DSM, Figma, Abstract, etc.), After Effects
