We’re looking for an experienced, innovative and strategic Creative Director with a proven track record of managing talented teams. A Creative Director with senior-level chops who inspires, drives change and both develops and executes strong creative strategies for big brands. What you’ll do to help make a difference.
- Bring experience working in either/both client servicing Ad-Agency or in-house creative corporate culture.
- Lead and inspire your team to develop strategically-grounded, insight-driven creative that brings to life the features and benefits of our retail partner’s suite of credit cards for both customers and prospects.
- Collaborate with marketing strategists and internal business clients to understand consumer needs, positively influencing marketing strategy and the customer experience.
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of advertising and marketing trends and translate business intent into creative strategies and executions that market products effectively.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the intended audience; interpret market research and test results, as well as use findings to focus targeted marketing messages.
- Build and maintain relationships with a network of partner groups (digital, operations, legal, etc.) to anticipate and proactively address obstacles and establish creative as a thought partner and ally—not just an executor of deliverables.
- Present (up to a senior leader level) with a convincing and inspiring style to increase buy-in and open the door for new opportunities—both for your team and department.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and own the creative direction of marketing materials for assigned business group. Collaborate with partnering teams to help formulate marketing strategy and influence production. Develop and execute creative strategy for a wide array of creative channels and mediums.
- Partner with the business group to fully integrate the Capital One brand and their own across the suite of products.
- Manage a team of art directors and copywriters and translate the overall strategy into creative direction for them so they can clearly develop the creative in accordance with the strategy. Review creative output to ensure creative work meets marketing and business objectives.
- Recommend appropriate vendors and creative resources and manage those vendors as necessary.
- Develop associates and perform administrative tasks.
- Manage/negotiate workflow to ensure workload level matches allocated creative resources. Prioritize work and manage creative capacity.
- Occasionally manage creative work through outside agency.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
- At least 5 years of experience developing creative for digital and traditional marketing channels
- At least 5 years of experience in direct marketing or advertising industry
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Advertising or Design or Marketing or Journalism or Communications or Graphic Design
- At least 5 years of experience hiring, leading, managing and coaching creative team
- At least 5 years of experience in proven problem-solving skills and generation of creative solutions that improve the way we do business
- At least 5 years of experience in organizing and managing multiple projects with overlapping schedules and deadlines; prioritizing projects and directing work
- At least 6 years of experience as a Creative Director
- At least 7 years of brand experience in multi-channel marketing
- Financial industry experience
