Eight Bit Studios is looking for an organized and collaborative Contract UX Strategist to join our team at 25+ hours per week and support growing client work. You must be able to work on site in Chicago at least 50% of the time and you must actually love what you do.

We’re looking for a UXer who is super adaptable and likes to live in the nexus of product and collaborate closely with other user experience strategists, product designers, and development pros to create incredible and inclusive digital products for our client partners. 

As a Contract UX Strategist at Eight Bit, you believe that great user experience comes from effective communication and digging deep to understand the user, not just squares on a page. You’ve seen your best work created while working seamlessly with Design and Dev after thoughtful discovery. As a lifelong learner, you are eager to keep up with up-to-date and innovative research techniques. You’re able to annotate and explain design choices so that nothing - from user flows to personas - is a question mark. Through it all, you keep an open analytical mind, make data your bestie, and are always a champion of the user.  

Are you still with us? Great, now here’s what this role is all about: 

• 4+ years working in User Experience. Time at a tech consultancy experience gets you brownie points

• You’ll feel in your element planning and facilitating a workshop with our internal team and our client partners

• Planning and conducting user research is your jam. You’re comfortable gathering and using qualitative and quantitative data.

• Creating clear and insightful user models like personas and customer journeys is almost as satisfying as watching people using them

• Your empathy for the user helps you find creative and ethical solutions for clients

• You feel good helping your team brainstorm ideas for new products and new features - but also helping them to say no and set priorities

• Sketching, white boarding and prototyping are second nature to you at this point

• You don’t need to create final visual designs yourself, but you view Product Designers as your other half

• You're experienced in tools like Figma, Sketch, Invision, and Zeplin
