Are you ready to take your user experience expertise to the conversational AI space? Kin + Carta is seeking UX professionals to help envision and create voice & chat interfaces for our clients. The ideal Convo UX Arch has conducted research and/or design for web and mobile UI and is passionate about the affordance of natural user interfaces and natural language to enhance a user’s experience.

Responsibilities

Working with our clients to align their brand with the voice of the experience
Developing the experience architecture through voice and/or chat flows
Facilitating appropriate method and conducting user research to test prototypes and evaluate implemented features

Minimum Qualifications

Previous experience in a UX role or related product role
Direct experience with facilitating user research activities and identifying insights
Direct experience with UX design (info architecture, interaction design, low-fidelity prototyping)
Fluency in English (or primary language for project UI)

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or relevant education in UX or related field
Experience working with engineers and technical architects
Experience in a copywriting role
Experience with conversational technologies (Dialogflow, Alexa, Google Home, etc.)
Experience working on lean Agile teams
Experience helping client’s define voice and personality for digital products
Experience working as a consultant for Fortune 100/high profile clients
Experience conducting both generative and evaluative research methods
Experience establishing product requirements
Exposure and advocacy for AI ethics

Flexibility fosters work-life balance

When Sweet’s child was ill for nearly five days straight, questions ensued: Who will stay home? How will work react? What can get pushed until next week? Kin + Carta alleviates concerns like these by respecting employees’ lives outside of work with flexible work schedules. Sweet’s team was understanding of her absence, removed items from her to-do list and even surprised her with a care package upon her return.

Due to the high number of industries they build for, Kin
+ Carta engineers must quickly learn new technical skills and get up to speed on client and industry needs. Recently, Kunta supported a cloud-based iPad application for farmers that mapped tractor location and seed tracking data, which even included farm visits for field testing. New projects for new companies means never being bored.

An Insider's view of Kin + Carta

What are some social events your company does?

Kin + Carta celebrates holidays with our office in Argentina - our US offices have introduced Argentina to Halloween, and the Buenos Aires office introduced the US to “Friends Day” in July. We also have a book club, a board game club, football and a Bachelor fantasy draft, co-rec sports, wine tastings and happy hours to celebrate new hires.

What does your typical day look like?

My days are pretty dynamic — I could be preparing to lead a workshop, working on a product roadmap, sitting with research on customer interviews, mentoring team members, etc. A few things are constant every day, though: I get to solve interesting problems, I get to be creative, and I get to work with amazing people.

What unique initiatives do you have that encourage innovation?

As a digital innovation firm, creativity is in our DNA. We hold an annual client summit to harness the creativity of our Kin. Employees self-organize around our R&D function, solving problems with emerging technologies to show off to our clients. Many of these ideas have gone on to help our clients better understand their end-user.
