All of our products will be designed, engineered, manufactured and assembled at Trulli HQ, in Mundelein, IL. As we continue to grow, we’re looking to expand our talented team with music lovers who are technical, resourceful & motivated problem solvers.

Job Summary:

As the creative brand & art director at Trulli, you are accountable for a wide range of digital & physical concepts and solutions. You will lead the digital & physical creative projects from concept to completion – following the existing global brand architecture, style guides, tone, and voice while expanding on that foundation as necessary. You will work directly with the CMO, SVP of Marketing Operations and Director of Customer Experience as well as external copywriters, designers and producers – and all strategic stakeholders. Additionally, you will oversee all design and evolve our digital and physical assets to transform Trulli into an industry-leading brand through its creative & digital storytelling approach.

Job Duties:

Accountable for delivery of a wide range of creative physical & digital concepts and solutions:

Digital and Physical Concepts and Solutions

  • Lead in brand storytelling across our content calendar to drive our new brand Trulli and TrulliAudio.com to the market and beyond. 
  • Lead the delivery of design and art direction for all brand digital communication. Lead the delivery of design and art direction for all product marketing materials. 
  • Lead the contribution of driving best & disruptive thinking practices for a Direct-To-Consumer brand through creative & art design.
  • Contribute to the design and art direction for digital campaigns and creative concepts.
  • Contribute to the design and art direction for physical product activations.
  • Contribute to the design and art direction for augmented & virtual reality broadcasts.
  • Lead in the delivery of a companywide asset catalog.
  • Collaborate with digital creative experts, freelancers and agencies ensuring efficient delivery of digital and physical creative assets and augmenting internal competencies & timeline restraints with external input within your scope of responsibility.

Creative Standards:

  • Drive the creation of digital-first design guidelines and ensure implementation through templates and toolkits, enabling global consistency and raising the quality of execution.
  • Follow creative reviews and ensure the brand is represented consistently across all design and visual content deliverables within your scope of responsibility. 
  • Drive continuous improvements and elevation of digital design and art direction deliverables within your scope of responsibility. 
  • Keep up to date with trends in digital technologies and digital design practices, e-commerce product marketing & packaging and train the team. 
  • Contribute to the digital creative community by sharing and incorporating best practices. 

Creative Consultation & Collaboration:

  • Being a small team, continually and overly communicating through our digital tool set and infrastructure.
  • Consult major stakeholders on digital design and provide examples of innovative solutions for new digital creative concepts. 
  • Present your designs and concepts to major stakeholders and support your work with a clear rational and recommendations.
  • Challenge stakeholders and investors to ensure optimized solutions for consumer, business and the brand. 
  • Understand business needs and collaborate with the marketing, sales, experience, .com, and fulfillment teams to create effective digital & physical design solutions. 

Skills and Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of art direction and concept development.  
  • In-depth knowledge of photography and videography techniques.  
  • In-depth knowledge of Digital/Mobile Marketing. 
  • In-depth knowledge of Direct to Consumer Brand, Marketing, Sales & Experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to create 3D renders and assets, proficiency in Cinema 4D or AfterEffects and other relevant 3D programs.
  • In-depth knowledge of video production – both hands on creation and directing/producing.
  • In-depth knowledge of content creation processes – in-camera, CGI, animation, digital experience builds, etc. 
  • Strong social-media knowledge and ability to create forward thinking content across all mediums and sub-mediums.
  • Ability to photograph products, people or environments – be a contributor to the Trulli asset catalog.
  • Ability to blend knowledge between different disciplines to create new experiences. 
  • Contribute to our merchandise and apparel needs through creative direction & art design.
  • Fluent English skills both verbally and written. 

Additional skill sets:

Corporate Communication • Branding • POP/POS • Advertising • D2C • Retail • Experience in the design and production of the following digital element: • Websites (internal/external) • B2C sites • CRM • Digital Asset Management • Hands on experience of web-based media marketing and communications capabilities • Financial understanding to manage project and department budgets • Strong understanding of print and a focus on web design principles and a good understanding of current web technologies and database functionalities • Capacity to navigate complexity of supporting business units, multiple-countries, & multiple-channels; ability to optimize our matrix organization and take into consideration potential divergent interests • Ability to identify and forecast opportunities and emerging trends along with a willingness and ability to create and drive change • Solid attention to detail with strong organization and project management skills

Education and Experience

  • Extremely motivated and detail-oriented individual who is energized by large challenges
  • 5+ years as a creative director in E-Commerce
  • 5+ years’ experience in the Graphic Design field
  • 5+ years’ experience with video production, video editing, color correction, studio and field videography
  • 5+ years’ experience with product photography
  • High standards in creative execution and appreciation for excellence
  • Have a design portfolio that shows excitement and desire in those who view it
  • Portfolio must include work that you have created & managed, not only managed: product photography, email marketing, social media marketing and e-commerce
  • A strong Hierarchy/Layout/Typography skill set
  • Excellent knowledge of color theory and balance
  • Excellent attention to detail, highly developed organization and communication skills
  • Experience with working with Branding Guidelines and Processes
  • Delivery quality work on a deadline
  • Excellent communication, both written and spoken English
  • Must be self-directed, confident and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate high level of critical thinking and problem solving

Would be a plus if you had the following:

  • 4-year degree in Graphic Design or similar field
  • 5+ years’ experience in studio photography
  • Strong Illustration/drawing skill
  • Knowledge of printing processes and restrictions
