Job Description This is not just a boring bank job. We're seeking a talented Creative Copy Lead to join our dynamic, fast-growing in-house agency team. This person is a hands-on, creative copywriter/creative director and problem solver who can roll up their sleeves and create work while also growing and nurturing a team of copywriters who work on our J.P. Morgan and JPMorgan Chase corporate brands. This person demonstrates exceptional talent in developing and maintaining a consistent voice and tone across all brand materials, strong conceptual thinking and innovative approaches to tactical execution. The Creative Lead inspires and encourages a collaborative work environment as well as challenges the team to push ideas to the next level.
The Creative Lead will partner with brand and project managers to build strong relationships with our internal business partners, ensure consistent creative quality and adherence to brand guidelines. The right person will be skilled in creative strategy and passionate about communicating the human side of our brand while educating, informing and encouraging our customers along every step of their financial journey.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Creative Director, other Creative Leads, copywriters and art directors to develop creative concepts
  • Own and supervise individual creative projects
  • Learn about the strategy and market dynamics for the lines of business you work on
  • Follow the master brand guidelines and ensure that it's understood and applied consistently
  • Understand and clearly articulate direction from a creative brief
  • Work closely with account and project managers to meet agreed upon timelines and to build strong relationships and trust with our line of business clients
  • Participate in project kickoffs, brainstorming sessions, status meetings, and creative reviews, to stay aligned with the creative process and ensure adherence to timelines
  • Assist in client presentations
  • Advise clients on language and content structure recommendations
  • Complete all assigned work on deadline and regularly communicate status updates to your managers and teammates
  • Provide detailed direction to copywriters and assist in the development and advancement of their skills
  • Effectively manage multiple projects and remain flexible through multiple rounds of revisions, using your negotiating skills to maintain the integrity of the idea
  • Function autonomously on a day-to-day basis but involve Head of Copy in major decisions
  • Understand the various customer segments the bank serves within our J.P. Morgan and JPMorgan Chase corporate brands

Qualifications
  • At least 10 years of professional writing experience; agency experience is strongly preferred but not required
  • 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in advertising, copywriting, communications, creative writing or a similar course of study.
  • Direct response, direct-to-consumer and digital experience required
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry with an understanding of the importance of risk and control (i.e., pharmaceutical or healthcare if not financial) a plus
  • Strong conceptual skills and proven experience in direct marketing as well as other media including email, digital, social, mobile, and events/display
  • Strong attention to detail and command of the English language, as well as communication, presentation and strategy skills
  • Experience writing to a brand voice, a keen sense of how to tailor a message to audience, and experience helping other writers do the same
  • Proven conceptual thinker with experience in a wide array of media, including digital, email, social media, print, direct response, video and events/display
  • The ability to professionally manage challenging situations both internally and with the client
  • Experienced at translating a creative brief into clear and motivating creative
  • Proactive, organized and detail-oriented work style
  • Able to effectively handle multiple assignments concurrently in a fast-paced environment, partner effectively and consistently meet deadlines-without losing your cool
