The Digital Content Marketing team is a large group of in-house creatives and creative ops professionals who support all the branded creative marketing and merchandising needs for Groupon globally. We work to create a brand people get excited about, for both customers and our clients across the company, through visual design, content marketing, and photos and videos from our in-house studio.

 

The Creative Director leads and drives creative direction of marketing/merchandising design for Groupon’s online brand experience. The Creative Director drives strategic creative innovation, collaborating cross-functionally with global and local internal teams dedicated to branded creative, digital and content marketing, merchandising, and social media, among others. This role reports to the Head of Global Digital Content.

You’ll spend time on the following:

  • Manage creative strategic initiatives from visual conceptualization to completion, and translate merchandising and marketing objectives into visual strategies and processes

  • Be a master and champion of the Groupon brand, and drive creative production to brand guidelines, merchandising guidelines, and strategy

  • Drive visual innovation, brainstorming, and conceptualization to develop and produce innovative, thought-provoking campaigns that align to business goals & objectives

  • Review work, troubleshoot, and provide feedback and coaching to creative teams

  • Identify and implement processes and solutions to drive creative operational scale and improved quality in line with brand and business requirements

  • Remain actively involved in hiring, training, and cultivating career development of creative teams

  • Determine production requirements and schedule in partnership with account manager and cross-functional teams by reviewing client requirements; outlining basic presentation concepts; and coordinating creative activities

  • Meet with clients and/or upper management to explain campaign strategies and solutions

  • Partner with leadership to lead annual operations planning and oversee subsequent management of the budget and operations

 

We’re excited about you if you have:

  • 10+ years agency or creative services experience

  • 7+ years leadership experience in agency or creative services, preferably as a creative director, art director, or similar role

  • 5+ years experience directly managing and leading a team

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, marketing, or other related field

  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite; working knowledge of Sketch and InVision beneficial

  • Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Excel

  • Extremely comfortable working on Mac computers

  • Outstanding leadership and management skills

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, able to resolve complex issues in creative ways

  • Inspiring, values innovative thinking and is in-tune with emerging visual trends and how to implement them to solve for business needs

  • Able to provide clear creative direction and articulate vision to all levels within organization

  • Strong interpersonal skills, exhibits diplomacy and decisiveness

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Flexible and able to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment with shifting objectives
