The design team at Motorola Solutions is tasked with envisioning the future of technology while bringing to market real world solutions today. Our portfolio contains an ecosystem of applications designed to bring mission-critical intelligence from the command center to in-field operations. This includes a suite of communication, collaboration, and workflow apps. We are building some of the most meaningful software today. Real, professional, tools.
The design team includes Interaction Designers, Visual Designers, Industrial Designers, Design Operations and User Experience & Human Factors Researchers. We work closely with our development partners to ensure the best end-to-end solutions.
Job Description
THE JOB
In one of the fastest growing spaces, DesignOps is changing the way teams engage and companies strategize to leverage and harness incredible designers. This highly collaborative role will focus on helping the Experience Design team deliver value at scale through the definition and management of operational strategies and design processes. In collaboration with stakeholders both inside and outside our organization, you will work to improve how we collaborate, alleviating friction between design teams and business partners.
Our Design Operations team focuses on People, Process and Platforms - this role, responsible primarily for Process Ops will collaborate with Team Ops leads, as well as Research Ops, and together help leadership craft and build the culture and best practices of the team.
ABOUT YOU
4+ years of professional experience in Operations, or a similar positions, such as Project or Program management with a UX focus
You have an ability to craft, institute, measure and change processes within and across teams, and organizations balancing the diverse needs of multiple stakeholders
You have a passion and knowledge for systems, and a detail-driven eye for process
You have a track record of implemented processes in similar roles or domains with a proven history of immersing yourself in new domains to execute optimized solutions for all stakeholders
You can partner closely with disciplines outside the UX team to help improve communications and increase adoption of our processes and practices
You have strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
A track record of proven strategic thinking reflected in your history of successfully implemented processes
Comfort working with stakeholders across disciplines; UX, Engineering and Product Ownership (among others)
A belief in the value of collaboration and a desire to solve problems in partnership with other Operations disciplines and design leadership
Understanding of Agile process and how UX is woven throughout is a plus
This role can be remote anywhere in the US. Occasional travel to the Chicago area will be required.
Basic Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Design or related field plus 4+ years of experience or Masters Degree plus 2+ years of experience.
