Overview

The Digital Designer will support online advertising and will be responsible for the ad production process, producing effective digital solutions. The Digital Designer coordinates with internal and external customers and resources, completes creative requests, researches and screens all materials and takes the necessary steps to ensure compliance with ad specifications and standards. The Digital Designer will excel at providing analytically-driven creative ideas to solve design problems.

 

Responsibilities

  • Designs digital advertising including standard display ad units, rich media, e-blasts, landing pages and microsites on multiple platforms
  • Clarifies job requests, consolidates materials and produces creative work within predetermined timeframes
  • Manages client expectations through analysis of creative concepts and execution of design updates when deemed necessary
  • Reviews ad submission materials and explains technical production and serving issues clearly to sales support staff, sales associates, agencies and clients
  • Verifies proposed solutions and prepared creative from customers meet tronc. Inc and industry specifications
  • Conducts final proof of advertising messages before creative is released for launch, editing for readability, style and accuracy
  • Utilizes vendor self-service platforms to execute and track engagement of rich advertising functionality
  • Troubleshoots live creative and production issues, escalating concerns to proper vendor contacts and key stakeholders
  • Works closely with client service and advertising operations support to ensure that digital campaigns run promptly, efficiently and effectively to provide the best value and results for our users and advertisers
  • Completes assigned creative requests in workflow, communicating status of projects in queue to customers, teammates and Digital Design Manager
  • Acts as subject matter expert and direct point of contact for creative vendors, attending webinars on new releases and best practices, documenting processes and communicating updates to design teammates

Qualifications

Required skills include advanced experience utilizing graphics programs within the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator & Animate and knowledge of web production, including how materials are processed and published, through knowledge of HTML authoring with inline styling is required, as we do not rely on graphic HTML editors. JavaScript, PHP, CSS, responsive HTML coding, HTML5 ad creation is a plus. These creative abilities should be visible through the implementation of design elements in the applicant’s previous work.

 

  • 2-4 years of post-college experience in interactive or digital advertising or marketing field
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design/ visual communication
  • Outstanding online portfolio demonstrating understanding of design fundamentals (typography, color, animation, layout) and success in creating engaging digital marketing collateral
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Detail-orientated
  • Open to new ideas and quick to react to changing trends
  • Able to work independently and under tight deadlines
  • Capable of handling a multitude of tasks with accuracy
