GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Digital Designer/Developer (Email) will be responsible for developing Emails (Promotional, Grand Opening, Transactional, Loyalty), Microsites, Landing Pages and Related Assets with a focus on personalization. This role will work seamlessly with the Manager, Digital Creative (Email) and the Email team, as well as teams across Ecommerce, Social Media/Content, Integrated Marketing, CRM/Loyalty as we continue to grow, evolve, and innovate our digital footprint. Strong communication skills and ability to stay highly organized is critical. They should be a self-starter, self-motivated, able to work independently, and perform multiple tasks under minimal supervision.  

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Functions)

  • A strong online design portfolio
  •  A great eye for detail, demonstrate creative and innovative problem solving
  • Develop retina-ready mobile-first interactive emails with dynamic content scripts, using HTML & CSS; ensuring functionality across all browsers and devices
  • Understand and prioritize the need for continued Develop landing pages and create microsites based on established templates
  • Support email campaigns via Salesforce Marketing Cloud (using AMPscript), LiveClicker and other campaign automation tools
  • Collaborate closely with Email Marketing Team to understand priorities and deployment
  • Stay up-to-date with email coding best practices, email-service provider capabilities, and capabilities for improving engagement and effectiveness of email campaigns with ongoing education in new tools and techniques
  • Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives
  • Deliver consistent, high quality of work by proofing and continually being accountable for accuracy in work
  • Follow established tones, including brand standards, and execute them across multiple platforms. Be able to make production related edits to existing creative
  • Collaborate with other channel designers/developers and UX lead to test and enhance the omni-channel experience, ensuring consistency and effectiveness for our guests and programs
  • On-time delivery with high-quality execution, within a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
  • Be responsive to ever changing business need that support the overall enterprise

Requirements

  • 2-3 years in digital visual design for marketing, and/or advertising projects
  • Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design, Media Arts or similar
  • Experience with SalesForce Marketing Cloud and LiveClicker is preferred
  • dvanced level skill with Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver (or other tools to develop as well as create HTML, CSS, AMPScript, Javascript), General CMS experience
  • Experience in Video Editing (After Effects) highly desirable
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PPT
  • Previous experience working in an e-commerce or retail environment is a plus  
  •  A passion for Ulta Beauty, its products, and its guests is a requirement
