About the Role

As a Director of Product Design, you are responsible for owning the design strategy and process for our product and leadership of the design organization. You will have a team of designers and researchers and work closely with the Product, Engineering, Operations, and customer advocates to create an amazing experience for our customers.

You are someone who puts the customer experience first and champions that with your team. You are someone who believes in rapid prototyping and learning quickly and can work with the Product team to continuously improve the research and discovery phase of our process. You will spend time defining and managing to objectives for the design organization and will mentor your teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the design strategy and maintain alignment with Product and Marketing
• Hire, grow, and develop your team
• Drive change through insights with a mind to providing an amazing user experience
• Contribute to design thinking at the company, resulting in tangible improvements across our portfolio of products – as well as to how we approach and solve customer problems.
• Execute at every stage of the design lifecycle from concept to delivery
• Excite users, engineers, and product managers through visual storytelling
• Engage early and often in the product life cycle and employ rapid prototyping methods

Requirements

Qualifications

• 7+ years experience in product design leadership
• Experience working with consumer facing software applications a must
• Experience with design research and testing
• Experience hiring a diverse team including UX research and UI/UX designers
• Ability to care deeply about the user
• Clear communicator both written and verbal
