What You'll Do 

The Experience Design (XD) Practice Leader directs the evolution and growth of the company’s offerings through a combination of direct client engagement and development of best-in-class staff, processes, and perspectives. The Practice Leader will be responsible for the XD practice including emerging capabilities within that practice. This position drives operational excellence by articulating a strong perspective on the future of the XD offering and engaging The Nerdery’s staff to create standards / best practices, tools, community, and thought leadership in support of that vision.

The Practice Leader will be deeply connected with strategic clients and partners. They will work directly to sell strategic work and to deliver results in those client engagements. A Practice Leader will serve as a consultant and hands on leader within key accounts in their practice area.

The XD Practice Leader will grow and inspire a high-caliber practice by defining excellence and a career growth path for members of that practice. Additionally, the XD Practice Leader will formulate, analyze and recommend strategies related to emerging industry trends, expansion opportunities, and competitive dynamics within his or her portfolio.

What We're Looking For

• A mastery of experience design and ability to direct all phases of the design process
• Experience leading, mentoring and growing design teams both within XD and beyond
• Experience developing and institutionalizing experience design standards in complex ecosystems
• Exceptional senior client management skills
• 10+ years of progressive professional experience in the experience design field
• 4+ years experience leading a design team
• Experience in the software development industry
