Experience Designer
West Monroe is seeking an Experienced Consultant with prior experience in using human centered design methods to create digital products and strategies to join our Seattle office and National Products and Experience Lab (PXL) practice. Our PXL practice office serves an array of interesting and exciting clients across the nation.
As an Experienced Consultant in our PXL practice, you will serve clients in the healthcare, financial services, and emerging industries with a focus on creating the strategy for and building digital products and experiences, with an emphasis on customer research, persona development, digital vision alignment, service blueprint creation and roadmap development. This role requires a unique blend of the creativity required to help generate new digital ideas, and the operational awareness to build plans that bring those ideas to life. Backgrounds in human centered design and UX are preferred.
In addition to client delivery, you will have the opportunity to assist with business development (hunting new clients and building relationship with existing), along with contributing to internal practice development leadership.
Experienced Consultants at West Monroe have three primary responsibilities:
Client Delivery:
- Execute digital strategy and experience design projects – create client deliverables, assist in managing client relationships, work in a team environment to achieve client goals and outcomes
- Assist in research and insight development - lead discovery workshops and interviews, perform customer research (interviews, ethnographic studies, focus groups, etc) and develop insights, using that information to create key deliverables such as customer personas, journey maps and service blueprints. create the future vision for digital strategy and experiences, and assist in creating roadmaps that bring that vision to life
- Assist in creating the overall digital strategy, vision, and experience design by combining insights in HCD methodology to generate UX ideas and mockups, find ways to improve internal processes and technology to execute digital plans, create roadmaps to set a path for our clients to achieve their digital vision and goals.
- Apply functional knowledge in key shared services (e.g. human centered design, UX, digital strategy, experience design, etc)
- Interface with all levels of management both internally and at client sites
Practice Development:
- Contribute to the development/enhancement of West Monroe’s market-leading methodologies, artifacts and practice strategy
- Actively participate in recruiting and retaining top quality consultants
- Create and publish content to increase personal and company brand
- Assist with company campus and experienced recruiting
Business Development:
- Assist in business development meetings with prospective Product and Experience Lab clients, assist in preparation of proposals and statements of work for short and long term opportunities
- Understand investment needs and requirements and help turn those goals into concrete engagements and detailed proposals
- Assist in the creation of work plans, pricing estimates, and risk assessments for prospects
- Actively build a professional network internally at West Monroe
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of 2 years participating in team-based environment using HCD and UX skills to create digital strategies and experiences
- Proven contributor with extensive ability to build solid and collaborative relationships with team members, foster a productive team environment, and coach staff
- Industry experience in Healthcare and Financial Services companies is preferred, but not mandatory
- Strong delivery background in digital idea generation, research/insights discovery, digital strategy and experiences deliverable creation, and UX experience
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and creative experience
- Strong organizational skills, detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities concurrently
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, work productively in a fast-paced, team oriented environment
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications and customer relations skills
- Ability to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship
- Ability to travel up to 50% but with limited notice
