Purpose of the Role:

To balance out the Industrial Design internal team’s creative workload. To bring creative solutions forward for development that consider timelines, cost targets, consumer needs and brand alignment.

 Key Responsibilities:

• A strong bend toward developing comprehensive solutions founded on field insights, user feedback that are exclusive, unique, engaging, and demonstrable.
• The ability to translate insights, consultant needs, consumer trends, business requirements and other constraints into actionable, detailed product design solutions that are evolutionary to revolutionary.
• Leads design projects and coordinates with junior designers and/or interns to execute design strategy. Coordinates efforts between research, strategy, industrial design, performance excellence and engineering teams to deliver final product.
• Provide input and drive the up-front industrial design efforts; aesthetic direction, colors & finishes specifications and functional solutions for all products within the designated product categories.
• Be the design “go-to” person for the Product Development Team and organize/contribute to design led brain-storming sessions, contribute to supplier communications to maintain design intent, performance requirements, troubleshoot issues, align on timing, cost and ensure overall quality expectations are met.
• Review new product test data and assist in establishing and implementing corrective actions to debug problems.

Education & Experience:

• At least 5 years experience in a professional setting, prefer 7 years
• Bachelor’s degree is required (BS, BFA). Masters is not required.
