So, what's the Role?

The Instructional Designer on the Training Team will work collaboratively with multiple departments to craft and build effective learning and development content for Trainers to use, based on the identified needs of the organization. This includes new hire training, continuous learning and product launch material which the Trainers use for e-learning modules and live in web-based training sessions or instructor-led training guides.

We are an organization dedicated to making data-driven decisions. It is critical for you to understand and report on participation and performance, so you can be constantly improving content and the ways we deliver training materials to improve retention and proficiency in all new policies, procedures and product launches.

A day in the life could include:

  • Build effective content to train and develop our Sales and Support Agents
  • Participate in product briefs and/or reading required product overviews
  • Research various new products and initiatives for further context
  • Respond to feedback from SMEs on ways to improve existing modules
  • Schedule out daily training sessions and learning assignments (trivie)
  • Revisit existing content to make sure it is up to date

I've got the skills...but do I have the necessary ones?

  • 2+ years of working experience of Instructional Design best practices and proven track record to build training content
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts.
  • Experience using G-Suite and/or Microsoft Office
  • Project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong desire to be THE expert about every detail of every process and product change
  • Comfortable working in a very fast-paced environment

Bonus Points:

  • Experience working with video in any VES
  • Experience with instructional technology
  • Experience working in the insurance industry

Located in the historic Merchandise Mart Plaza, Kin's office is located directly off the Brown and Purple line stops, overlooking the Chicago River.
