About the Team:

The Marketing function will lead a program to establish the Illinois Lottery brand through innovative, insight-led programs such as a new mobile first consumer experience, exciting games, social media and original advertising campaigns. Our newly developed brand toolkit will not only be used internally to ensure consistent messaging, but will also be leveraged to shape future marketing campaigns.

Position Overview:

The role of the Senior Marketing Manager leads and directs the design and production of visual and audio creative assets for placement across all paid and owned media channels. This individual will oversee creative asset development from our in-house studio from concept to execution. There will also be elements of managing our external creative agency, making sure marquee campaigns stay on time and providing creative input and feedback. This role will report into the Senior Director of Marketing and will have a direct report focused on social media strategy and execution. This role’s direct report will also have their own direct report focused on social media execution.

  • Accountable for production of all creative asset development from our in-house studio from concept to execution, making sure communication priorities are delivered and assets are developed to answer various ongoing or on/off product and initiative needs and are within brand guidelines.
  • Oversee Social Media team to ensure connection to brand and creative campaigns where necessary and provide guidance on execution of social media strategy
  • Liaise between creative and cross-functional teams (external and internal) to ensure consistency across communication
  • As we continue to develop in-house studio capabilities, this role will serve to help the team get up to speed on creative needs and pace of business
  • Responsible for managing asset-trafficking and overall integrated marketing support
  • Manage key stakeholders, including the State, by ensuring important creative decisions have been vetted by all relevant parties.
  • Work with our external agency to provide creative feedback and manage creative timelines.
  • Work closely with Insights, Media Manager and Product team to gain a deep understanding of target audiences and how best to reach them with messaging that optimizes ROI.

Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or related discipline
  • 7+ years of marketing communications experience
  • Agency experience
  • Client-side experience a plus
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • A strong understanding of multichannel marketing concepts
  • Ability to think creatively with attention to detail when up against deadlines
  • Flexible and collaborative team player
  • Responsive with a sense of urgency
  • Comfort managing change and multiple projects at one time
  • Ability to build and foster positive relationships both internally and with agency partners
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude in an environment with competing priorities and meet, if not exceed, tight deadlines
