We are expanding our design team in Chicago, and are looking for a senior designer to serve as a creative contributor and skilled visual communicator, responsible for concepting and designing brand storytelling efforts alongside our Group Creative Director. The right fit is ambitious, might be on track to become an ACD in the coming years, and is looking to create resonant, boundary-pushing work as part of a team of smart folks spanning multiple disciplines. If you’re all about exploration, iteration, and experimentation, you can work on a strategically-minded team to propose and refine ideas that move past the expected and imagine what’s next.

About you:

  • Multi-disciplinary senior-level designer (6+ years outside of university/school, with previous creative/digital agency experience) whose skillset embraces both digital and print.
  • Strong grasp on foundational design principles, typography skills, and the nuances of crafting brand identity.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills: you’re comfortable gaining client trust and helping them to understand the idea, and great at getting client buy-in.
  • Skilled in helping to bring a wide team along for the ride-- mentoring younger talent, collaborating with leadership, and working across studios.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite’s visual programs and Sketch (not SketchUp, although if you have outlier skills like that, flag ‘em in your application!)
  • Track record of ideating and executing visual projects with a strong central strategy-- with a portfolio to prove it.
  • Detail-oriented and focused on the craft, and passionate about learning new skills.
  • Highly collaborative and resourceful, a self-starter who proactively moves projects forward between check-ins.
  • Strong comfort level with an iterative design process. Approach feedback as an opportunity to learn and improve as an individual and as a team member.

What you’ll do at Mabbly:

  • Pitch, ideate and execute concepts for campaign development, brand + visual identity development, and guide digital products like websites.
  • Understand strategy and creative direction and translate it into rich, well-thought-out visuals, creative campaigns, and design systems including (but not limited to) logo development, typography, visual identity, light animation, social channel design support, presentation materials, etc.
  • Form relationships with our clients; research and propose work that pushes them far beyond their competition.
  • Work on multiple projects across industries, refining and developing all aspects of the chosen design and/or campaign concept in coordination with other teams
  • Balance creative requirements with brand and client business objectives
  • Self-motivate, prioritize, and propose timely solutions in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll love about working at Mabbly:

  • Unlimited vacation and personal day policy.
  • Flexible WFH policy.
  • Health benefits. Short-term Disability. Medical, dental, and vision (dependent coverage, as well).
  • HSA & FSA plans.
  • Competitive compensation and a 401(k) plan.
  • Pre-tax Commuter benefits.
  • Opportunities for advancement: Mabbly is committed to helping all staff develop and grow.
  • Regular company lunches and happy hours. Yes, it’s on us!
  • Ability to work on challenging problems with a sense of purpose, autonomy, and mastery.

Mabbly is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
