Senior Product Designer - Consumer App  

SpotOn is a fast-growing Point-of-Sale, marketing, loyalty, sales, and reputation tracking platform that helps customers check in to earn rewards at their favorite local businesses using our web, mobile phone, and tablet products. Business owners can use data generated by these check-ins, as well as sales data, to reach out and connect with their customers, and manage their online reputation, and experience the benefits of loyal, returning customers.

About the role

We're looking for a senior-level product designer to join our growing team, who is passionate about creating thoughtful mobile experiences for consumers.  You'll help design solutions that enable consumers to interact with touch points across the SpotOn brand- from ordering food, to scheduling appointments, to paying with a digital wallet.  You'll collaborate across disciplines to solve problems and advocate for the needs of end users, as well as the needs and expectations of our clients.

About the team

You'll be a core member of the SpotOn design team and will specifically be supporting the mobile app and online ordering team.  We're a location-distributed team across the US, Mexico, and Poland, and include product managers, project managers, front-end web, iOS, and Android developers, as well as back-end developers.  You'll report to the design lead on the team.

Responsibilities

• Design intuitive, delightful, and accessible user-centered experiences for primarily iOS and Android applications, but occasionally responsive web
• Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high fidelity mockups with detailed  documentation
• Work closely with product management, front-end developers, stakeholders, and members of the design team to ensure stellar execution of features from concept through launch
• Use quantitative and qualitative research/data where necessary to inform your design decisions and approach
• Collaborate with design team to establish and leverage user personas and journey maps
• Contribute to the strategy and planning phases of new features and products

What you'll need

• 3-5 years of experience as a designer working on digital products at an agency, studio, or in-house
• Experience designing for both iOS and Android apps
• Fluency in UX and visual design, as well as knowledge of design best practices across iOS and Android
• Knowledge of product development sprints
• Experience working with Figma, Sketch, XD, or related design tools (we use Figma)
• Good communication and collaboration skills (especially in a remote environment)

Bonus points

• Experience designing mobile-first for responsive web
• Experience shipping products with microinteractions and engaging animations
• Experience designing for consumer products, especially eCommerce and/or digital wallets
• Experience working with and/or contributing to a design system
• Degree in related field
