Senior User Researcher, Pay Friends
About the role
Put members first: That’s the User Research team’s north star. Our research seeks to understand the financial problems Americans face every day, inspires products that help solve those problems, and nurtures the culture of member-obsession that makes Chime the most human-centered financial company.Â
We’re looking for a Senior User Researcher to join our Pay Friends team. The goal of this team is to give our members the ability to effortlessly send and request money to and from anyone. Today, millions of Chime members use this feature to pay their friends and family—settling debts, borrowing quick cash, splitting bills, and many other use cases. We need a skilled researcher to deepen our understanding of how Chime’s members use money socially, so we can make Chime the best peer-to-peer payment experience available.
For Colorado based roles:Â In accordance with applicable law, this role has an annual starting salary of $142,500 plus bonus, a competitive equity package, and benefits (see below). The actual pay may be higher depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you can expect to
- Conduct thoughtful research on company strategy, products, and services to help our growing base of members with their financial health
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders from Product, Design, Marketing, and Analytics to understand our members and unearth problems we should be focused on
- Develop mixed method research studies that include stakeholders in every step of the process from study concept to insight delivery
- Produce research artifacts that are human-readable and concise to inform what we’re learning about members
- Act as a champion for high caliber user advocacy throughout Chime and champion our members first in all decisions
To thrive in this role, you have
- 4+ years of user research experience for mobile consumer products that have digital and physical experiences, with social and/or two-sided marketplace products as a huge plusÂ
- Quickly and independently designed research studies that have positively impacted user needs and business metrics
- Conducted collaborative research methods and shown a willingness to never settle for research reports
- A natural curiosity for people and what makes them tick
- Demonstrated excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience conducting various research methodologies such as survey writing, survey analysis, user interviews, usability testing, journey mapping, and field studies.
- Experience working in a startup environment (high growth startups a strong plus)
