Senior UX Designer

At Shiftgig, we build products that transform the way people work. We’re looking for someone with passion, curiosity and previous design experience that can own big product initiatives. If you’re a big product thinker with the desire to reshape how people find and engage with work you are the right fit for our team.  You’ll lead every step of the process for designing Shiftgig products - researching the best possible solutions, creating user flows, designing mockups, and creating prototypes.

Who We Are

• We built our first product, Deploy, to empower workers while streamlining business operations. We enable our clients to offer their workers employment opportunities and give them flexibility and choice.

• Deploy has three core applications:

  • A web-based dashboard and administrator view that enables businesses to manage their workforce and their profiles, monitor performance, and control business functions like timecards and orders.

  • Our business app and web interface give managers the option to place work orders, communicate with workers, and provide feedback on worker performance.

  • Available on iOS and Android, our native mobile app gives workers the ability to browse and claim shifts, provide feedback on work, and clock-in and out with ease.

What You'll Do

• Create and drive the company's design vision through alignment and collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure it delivers on both the user and business goals.

• Perform the entire process of user research from planning and recruitment to moderating and synthesizing your findings.

• Work closely with Product Management and Marketing to meet their design needs from product discovery and delivery to communication assets.

• Explore new innovative solutions and contribute to the team's design standards.

• Evangelize user empathy throughout the organization and demonstrate its ability to deliver business value.

• Lead user research efforts to understand our users throughout our entire service's experience to validate problems and design concepts.

• Support data-informed design by promoting the value of qualitative data, clear success metrics, and quantifying our experiences.

   

What You'll Need

• 5-7 years of experience working with digital products

• Past experience in conducting, or at least participating in, user research

• Ability to tell compelling stories about your intentional design decisions

• A solid portfolio of product-focused design work, including detailed descriptions of your design process

• Be a self-starter and willing to proactively look for opportunities to grow our small design practice
