We’re looking for a Sr. UX Researcher
Built In is seeking a Sr. UX Researcher to join our Product organization, reporting directly to our VP Creative Director. As our first dedicated UX Researcher you will enable UX design, product management, product marketing and engineering leadership to make data-driven product strategy decisions. Your work will span a range of both quantitative and qualitative research such as surveys, moderated in-depth interviews, usability testing, concept tests, diary studies and other applicable methods as needed. You will provide insights that fundamentally shape and continuously improve the Built In product experience for our users and customers.
If you have a track record and passion for designing, executing, and uncovering actionable insights across a variety of generative and evaluative methods, then we would love to talk to you about joining our team.
How you’ll contribute
- Partner closely with designers, product managers, engineering and product marketing to discover and evaluate user and customer needs to highlight ways we can design our products to provide more value
- Set up UX Research function within Product org and build out and maintain research repository
- Design, conduct and analyze qualitative and quantitative studies, including field observations and interviews, remote and in-person user testing studies for existing and future products
- Identify and explore new opportunities through creative research methods and ideation sessions to help define problems, product roadmaps, vision, and strategy
- Evaluate feature and design direction through participatory design, early concept testing, formative and summative usability testing
- Gain actionable insights and communicate findings in compelling and creative ways to stakeholders to inspire change in all stages of the product development
- Incorporate insights and collaborate with others in the larger data and insights teams, such as behavioral data and usage analytics, to bolster your own research and further enable cross-functional teams.
- Provide mentorship to other members of the team and champion the UXR discipline across the organization
What you need
- 8+ years of UX research experience that has included planning and strategy, moderation, and execution of both generative and evaluative methods for cross-functional teams
- Proven knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and experience implementing
- Ability to prioritize research projects from multiple teams, and proactively identify opportunities for valuable UX research
- Experience developing insightful, probing questions that resonate with target audiences
- Compelling storyteller and strong presentation skills
- Passionate about full cycle research; great at inspiring others to engage and take actions on the findings
- Must be able to share case studies and relevant experiences that highlights the above skills
