About the job.
Tovala is on the lookout for an experienced Sr. Brand Designer with a mixture of strategic thinking and creative hands-on design chops. In this role you will perform various creative functions necessary to elevate our brand across multiple touch-points. Your creative taste, imagination, resourcefulness and commitment will be essential as you evolve the Tovala brand. Here is how you will spend your time at Tovala.

  • Help lead and shape the evolution of the Tovala brand and champion the value of design within and across the company, producing inspiring, provocative, and disruptive results
  • Produce design solutions consistent with our brand image across brand, site, paid and physical channels
  • Establish, maintain, and evolve a clear visual brand identity from conception to execution; including brand campaigns, emails, social content, ads, web, app, product launches, menu photography, and packaging
  • Own print and digital marketing collateral to ensure adherence to our brand, clarity of content, consistency, and accuracy. This includes emails (mobile and desktop), social posts, printed fliers, shipping boxes, deck presentations, updates to our marketing website.
  • Support the fast-paced creative needs of a cross-functional company, such as the Marketing, Developer, Menu, and Digital Product teams
  • Foster curiosity and education around design trends to develop the visual design talent at Tovala and allow it to push the brand forward
  • Work independently, collaboratively, prioritize accordingly, and iterate quickly
  • Reporting to the VP of Creative, you will serve as a go-to resource, picking up projects and tasks as needed

Requirements
About you.

  • 7+ years experience within the field of design
  • You have a strong portfolio showcasing a range of work across: digital, print, paid, packaging and more
  • Experience creating and directing large scale projects from concept to execution
  • A passion for brand building, maintaining, directing, and evolving
  • The skills to balance big picture thinking while executing smaller creative deliverables
  • Proactive and able to take the initiative to learn and do whatever it takes
  • A great collaborator who can work with a diverse group of people (designers, comms strategists, engineers, chefs, customer support agents, etc.) to iterate on and create the best possible design solutions
  • Expert knowledge of typography, design/grid systems, color and composition
  • Degree in Graphic Design or equivalent experience
  • Adobe Creative Suite proficiency
  • Strong written and verbal English communications skills
  • Strong work ethic with a "no task is too small" attitude

Location

We have a large, open-plan office in the West Loop but we're a flexible, hybrid workplace so you can determine with your manager and team how often to come in.
