Crafty’s mission is to help companies craft better workplaces. We work with offices to elevate happiness by providing snacks, beverages, alcohol, and cool happy hour events!
When we first launched on December 1, 2015, our business was a craft beer marketplace that delivered delicious, small-batch local craft beers to offices throughout the city. We have since evolved into a food, beverage, and events management platform for offices in Chicago. Some of our biggest name customers are Google, Uber, Yelp, Salesforce, Trunk Club, WeWork, and Coyote Logistics!
From hot coffee to cold brew coffee, from kegs of craft beer to bottles of Bud Light, from LaCroix to Coke Zero, from coffee cups to plastic silverware, and from fully stocked office kitchens to poppin’ events and tastings, we offer a truly comprehensive product portfolio.
Crafty is seeking a UI Designer with experience in user experience and interaction design to join the Product team. We have a closely knit team that works to automate and streamline the day-to-day needs both internally and with our clients.
We believe that design should be human-centered and clearly and elegantly solve underlying problems. Our design team works closely with our product managers, stakeholders, and the development team to ensure that problems are being solved holistically and that solutions are handed off cleanly. Because of the rapidly growing nature of our business, we are an agile workshop that takes prioritization very seriously. Stories are vetted and groomed throughout the product pipeline to develop seamless interactions and tested solutions that provide a clear sense of the problem and solution to the developers.
Individual and team growth are very important to us, as our team is highly collaborative, supportive, and constantly learning about the latest technologies.
+ Minimum 2+ years experience of UX and UI design for products across a variety of industries and touchpoints with a focus on complex flows and use cases.
+ Worked within a collaborative design team building iterative solutions.
+ Excellent communication and data visualization skills. You can bring internal stakeholders on your design journey and support your decisions with focus and brevity.
+ To be considered for this position, please include a link to your portfolio and make mention of any particular projects you’d like us to view in your cover letter.
+ Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Abstract, Sketch, Principle, and Invision.
+ Familiarity with the Agile project methodologies and design version control.
+ Extensive understanding of prototyping methodologies and practices, user research methodologies and A/B test planning/execution.
+ Ability to accurately scope projects and provide accurate estimates to complete the work at hand.
+ Ability to lead meetings and assist in brainstorming sessions that develop stakeholders business needs into user-focused solutions.
+ Deeply curious and empathetic and have the ability to consider product strategy and vision. You don’t just care about “how it looks” or “what we should design” but rather, “why are we designing this at all?”
+ Collaborative by nature. You’ll work with product managers and developers to find the most effective, expedient and efficient way to implement solutions.
+ Able to present work in a clear and compelling manner and are able to rationalize design decisions by citing best practices, testing data, or business goals.
+ Extraordinarily organized. Detail-orientation is an absolute must. You have tried-and-true methods in your arsenal for staying organized and on top of it all.
+ Extremely hard working. We are a startup with the mentality that no job is too big or too small for us. You hustle because that’s just how you work.
+ Calm and collected in the line of fire. On a day where everything that could go wrong has gone wrong, you find a way to stay positive and promote that attitude within your team members.
+ Passionate about growth. We have a bright future ahead – which depends on our team’s spirit, morale, and work ethic.
