Job Description

NielsenIQ’s UX Designers partner closely with our Product Leadership & Technology teams to develop and drive the product strategy for NielsenIQ’s vast consumer data. Whether it be panel and retail measurement, our “Connected” technology platform or our suite of client applications, NielsenIQ’s Product Leadership team defines the market opportunities that shape the products our clients use to make strategic business decision

As a UX Designer, you will be alongside product leaders and developers, you will work to understand your audience and help them make sense of the complex retail and manufacturing marketplace. Our products and tools help our customers run their day-to-day business, including pricing, promotion, assortment, category review, and everyday analytics. These products are used by thousands of companies across North America, Europe, and around the world. Your design acumen, team approach, and passion to deliver will uniquely position you to help NielsenIQ deliver its next generation of great products.

What you’ll do

  • Design interfaces that clearly communicate complex data relationships, focusing the experience on both web apps and mobile apps

  • Create useful experiences with clear content hierarchy and narrative data visualization.

  • Collaborate with a cross-discipline team, improve product experiences through a user-centered design approach

  • Work with product teams to translate technical specifications into human centered design experiences

  • Define and create designs with technical annotations for development teams.

  • Support other designers, occasionally mentoring junior level designers.

  • Leverage and contribute to the design system(s) to drive product consistency across the enterprise.

  • Can provide clear and articulate explanations to defend design decisions across all levels of the enterprise

  • Continue to develop your UX skill set, following new and emerging industry trends 

  • Strong collaborator who enjoys working with a cross-disciplined team.

We are looking for people with

  • Passion for solving complex puzzles and designing data-rich solutions

  • Bachelor’s degree in UX or a related field such as HCI, Human Factors, information design, etc. Master’s degree preferred. 

  • 4 years of relevant experience working in corporate software, interactive agency or internet consulting environments. Design experience in a B2B context is preferred. Experience with business intelligence tools and data visualization is an advantage.

  • Ability to prototype designs using tools such as Sketch, and/or InVision. Bonus Points if you have prototyping experience in Axure

  • Experience using a design system, design system management is a plus

  • Experience in the design process (empathy mapping, task flows, user flows, wireframes with annotations and high fidelity designs) with evidence of this in your work.

  • Proven collaboration among UX peers, technology teams, and product stakeholders.

  • Understanding and application of UI frameworks, component libraries, and their impacts on design in relevant experience. 

  • Demonstrated successful teamwork in a multidisciplinary team environment, 

  • Evangelize and lead independent UX/UI projects
