About Brideside

Brideside is reinventing wedding retail by providing a seamless and complimentary styling service for modern brides and their parties. We are powered by a team of style consultants who provide a concierge service to each bridal party - whether they shop online, in one of our showrooms, or with our Try at Home program.

At our core is our belief that bridal party styling should be completely stress-free and incredibly fun. We are dedicated to celebrating and supporting women and the female friendships that are at the heart of every bridal party.

We have experienced rapid growth in the past few years and are looking for a UX Designer to join our team to bring user-centric design best practices to our e-commerce/retail experience. We’re looking for someone with deep user empathy, a passion for solving problems with technology, and a desire to learn, grow and adapt in a fast-paced start up environment. You’re the kind of person who questions the status quo, isn’t afraid to take ownership of their work, listens more than they talk, and excels at collaborating effectively with a wide array of users and co-workers to solve problems.  While you have a high bar for great design and amazing user experience, you also have a clear understanding of how to get to ‘good enough (for now)’ in an agile product development environment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who loves learning and appreciates an “all hands-on deck” collaborative environment.

You will be responsible for working directly for the Head of Product as the sole designer on staff, working with product and engineering and interfacing with internal stakeholders and customers to build the next big things at Brideside!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with product and development to collaborate on road map and backlog
  • Producing UX deliverables like wire frames, user journey maps, annotated high fidelity final mockups, and interactive design prototypes
  • Participate in and lead user research and discovery initiatives to obtain a deep understanding of the problems we are trying to solve to help contribute to how we are going to solve then
  • Conduct usability testing and be able to take actionable steps to iterate based on learnings from that testing
  • Contribute to our knowledge and understanding of user personas, workflows, and use cases

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-4 years of UX or UX adjacent experience (i.e. graphic/visual design, user research, front end development)
  • Mastery in tools to create low and high-fidelity prototypes and mock ups - i.e. Invision, Figment, Sketch, Balsamiq, Adobe Creative Suite, etc. (Brideside is tool agnostic so we’ll talk in the interview process about what tools you need to do your best work and make sure you start with the resources you need to get the job done)
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of HTML and CSS - meaning you understand the relationship between HTML and CSS and the browsers that render them and you can ‘talk web’ with developers
  • Ability to quickly learn platform ecosystems like Salesforce and Shopify
  • High EQ and user empathy
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills - you know how to talk to developers, understand the efforts and problems of customers and colleagues alike, and work with product to understand the business limitations and market dynamics at play
  • Familiarity with agile development and product discovery best practices
  • Ability to delight and advocate for customers
  • A deep passion for user experience and usability in products
  • Comfortable wearing a lot of hats but know when to ask for help
  • Past experience in one or more of the following is a nice to have: startup environments, high growth companies, e-commerce/retail, past experience designing work deployed in Shopify and/or Salesforce

Total Rewards Package:

  • Competitive compensation
  • Benefits package + unlimited PTO
  • A unique opportunity to be an early team member at a fast-growing e-commerce startup
  • A team of smart, unique, loyal and hilarious colleagues that you’d be hard pressed to find anywhere else
