What will your day look like?

You will be the hands-on person responsible for the foundational research to help inform and refine the user experience for new features and product enhancements at Alliant Credit Union online and mobile app, and other digital platforms. The incumbent will work closely with product managers and user experience team to help implement innovative solutions according to product roadmaps. The incumbent should have a strong background in user experience research for responsive web and native mobile apps, and will work within the larger User Experience team to assist in informing user-centered solutions.

 

The UX Researcher will participate in daily stand-ups, as needed, and use knowledge of the UX process (research, competitive analysis, conceptual design, prototyping, testing) in collaboration with architects, product owners, product managers and developers.

 

The incumbent will be passionate about providing the best user experience through all digital channels and will have deep understanding of design, technology and user behavior. The UX Researcher should have a strong vision for how technology and design can create usable, accessible and gratifying user experiences within web and application development, mobile, and other emerging platforms. Responsibilities include providing exceptional service and building trust with internal clients and the development team. General direction is provided by the Manager, UX/UI Design.

User Experience Research

  • Collaborate with product managers, visual design and user experience to facilitate and lead ethnographic, active participant, and remote or online user research
  • Define user research methodologies and processes as it applies to various product features and timelines.
  • Present findings, influencing and collaborating with a wide variety of product stakeholders
  • Establish and promote research guidelines, best practices and standards
  • Work seamlessly between multiple projects of varying complexities while respecting deadlines
  • Evaluate, monitor and report experiences against key success indicators

Strategy & Best Practices

  • Uncover and understand user requirements, organization goals, and technical capabilities to apply to user research
  • Conduct competitive research, concept validation and usability testing on various projects
  • Synthesize and quantify findings into actionable insights and useful outputs through reports and presentations
  • Create research reports, user journey maps, workflows, day-in-the-life scenarios, and use case summaries to help deepen organizational understanding of our users
  • Co-facilitate innovation workshops with designers, product managers, engineers and other stakeholders on envisioning exercises grounded in research insight

Qualifications

Do you see yourself doing this?         

You’ll be a great fit if in addition to the completion of a Bachelor’s degree inMarketing, Economics, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Information Science, or any other related field, required, and you have:

 

  • 5+ years of relevant experience conducting industry-level UX research
  • Proficiency in Sketch, Invision, Medallia, Usabiliy Hub, Optimal Workshop and User Zoom or similar research tools
  • Must be proficient in MS Word and the MS Excel analytical tools and also demonstrate proficiency in the use of PowerPoint in order to create engaging content for presentations
  • Must demonstrate a genuine passion for product-centric innovation; an ability to work well independently as well as with a team
  • Must have a keen and exceptional attention to detail and an ability to identify root recommendations inspired by the consumers’ needs and behaviors
  • Demonstrate analytical thinking and creative problem-solving

Health Insurance & Wellness Benefits
Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
Alliant employees can contribute up to $2,750 annually to their Health Care FSA and $5,000 to their dependent care FSA.
Disability insurance
Company provides Short Term Disability benefit payable for up to 13 weeks as well as Long Term Disability insurance that covers 66.67% of your monthly earnings up to $10,000 monthly maximum payout.
