We are looking for a visionary Director of Data Engineering to lead our data engineering efforts within a robust Azure and Power BI ecosystem. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for data engineering that aligns with the company's goals and objectives, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance within Litera’s EDW.
  • Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, providing guidance on best practices, code reviews, and professional development.
  • Design, build, and optimize data pipelines, architectures, and data sets in Azure to support data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data science, analytics, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver solutions that enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Implement and maintain robust security measures, ensuring compliance with data governance and privacy policies.
  • Stay current with industry trends and developments in Azure services, Power BI, and related data technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Manage the deployment of machine learning models in collaboration with data scientists, ensuring seamless integration with existing data pipelines and architectures.
  • Ensure high data quality and integrity by implementing quality control measures and monitoring performance.
  • Drive the adoption of advanced analytics and business intelligence tools within the organization, leveraging Power BI to create insightful dashboards and reports.
  • Oversee the budget for data engineering projects, including resource allocation and cost optimization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering with a proven track record of leading teams and delivering complex data projects.
  • Deep understanding of Azure cloud services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Data Warehouse/Synapse Analytics, and Azure Databricks.
  • Expertise in Power BI and other BI tools, with experience in dashboard and report development.
  • Strong experience with SQL, Python, Spark, and other data engineering technologies.
  • Familiarity with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing principles.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a remote team.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
  • Experience with machine learning model deployment and MLOps is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data governance, compliance, and security standards.

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, or Washington residents is $125,000 to $140,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Litera offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
