Infrastructure & Security Lead
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infrastructure and Security leader to join our dynamic team. You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our cloud-based software platforms. You will be responsible for overseeing our infrastructure while leading efforts to enhance security measures and mitigate potential risks. You will also be responsible for developer tools as well as cloud and security vendors. You will be a doer, roll up your sleeves and deliver technical projects on your own as well as coordinate work amongst the team that’s comprised of employees and contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure & DevOps:

  • Design, implement, and maintain the company's cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability, reliability, security and performance.
  • Manage the deployment and maintenance of servers, containers, networks, storage, and other infrastructure components using infrastructure as code (IaC).
  • Implement best practices for cloud architecture in areas of observability, elastic scalability, redundancy, and disaster recovery.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to implement DevOps & CI//CD best practices to optimize developer productivity and developer experience.
  • Manage cloud accounts, budget & vendors.

Security Management:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive security policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard the company's infrastructure and data.
  • Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and address potential security vulnerabilities.
  • Deploy vendor applications and tools to protect the cloud environment from cybersecurity threats.
  • Monitor security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
  • Stay abreast of emerging security threats, trends, and technologies to proactively mitigate risks.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead a team of infrastructure and security employees and contractors
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning within the team.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to foster professional growth and development.
  • Manage workload allocation, performance evaluations, and training initiatives to optimize team productivity and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 10+ years experience in infrastructure management, cloud architecture, and security operations within a cloud software company or similar environment.
  • Strong technical expertise in cloud platforms (AWS preferred, Azure, GCP), networking, virtualization, and containerization technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and controls to protect against cybersecurity threats.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks.
