Director of Inventory & Demand Planning: RXBAR is one of the fastest growing natural brands in the country. Reporting to the Chief Supply Chain Officer, the Director of Inventory & Demand Planning will be accountable for the development and execution of forecasting & manufacturing strategies to ensure inventory levels will be optimized and balanced against both short and long-term capacity planning. This role will work towards continuous improvement and quality initiatives while managing key relationships with our contract-manufacturing and warehouse partners. Additionally, the Director of Inventory & Demand Planning will oversee all internal product management and will drive operational efficiencies and value creation across the organization.

This is a highly visible supply chain role where the ideal candidate will have robust CPG experience within inventory management and/or demand planning. It is an exciting opportunity with a high level of accountability and ownership over our finished goods inventory, where experience establishing strategy and performance metrics for end to end supply chain optimization is desired.

General Functions + Job Responsibilities:

  • Play integral role in leading S&OP process to ensure adequate inventory of all Chicago Bar Co. (RXBAR) products in accordance with demand plans, inventory cycles, manufacturing capacities and RXBAR’s organizational philosophies
  • Manage the relationships and planning processes for manufacturing and subassemblies across the supply chain
  • Ensure production schedule attainment and various other operations metrics for measuring co-manufacturer performance and accountability
  • Gather and define best practice policies, procedures and techniques for all aspects of RXBAR’s Forecasting and Inventory Management along with external partner inventory control
  • Own inventory catalog management through the life cycle of all finished goods inventory from inception of new items to disposition strategies
  • Monitor and report inventory and production issues on a regular basis to Leadership and the whole organization
  • Provide department leadership and strategic oversight for the implementation and adherence to industry best practices and SOPs throughout the organization and its external partners
  • Support cross-functional teams on all product spec sheets and UPC management
  • Provide guidance, leadership and improvement to the organization for Inventory Control and Production Planning; including best in class forecasting, inventory management and metrics, quality standards as well as aging inventory
  • Prevent and resolve inventory issues including the existence, cause and resolution of inventory variances, working alongside internal teams and customers
  • Develop, coordinate the agreement and ensure the establishment of industry best practices
  • Collaborate with the Accounting team on inventory reconciliation and adjustments and with Finance team on Inventory cash flow projections and planning
  • Play an active role in the audit reviews and management responses and action plans to reported issues

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Positive attitude, a thirst for knowledge, and an excitement for growing our business
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business discipline (preferably Supply Chain/Operations)
  • 7+ years of Inventory Management Experience
  • APICS or similar certifications a plus
  • Ability to lead a team and previous management experience is a strong plus
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, strong Excel skills required
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional departments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to drive quality, productivity, and exceed Supply Chain goals and metrics
  • Working knowledge of standard Inventory Management platforms
