Frontline Education is a leading provider of SaaS solutions for educators and administrators across the United States. Our unprecedented growth has created a number of new opportunities across the company.  Currently, we are looking to delight our customers by hiring a Director of Product Development for our engineering teams in our Recruiting & Hiring division.  This individual will have experience leading teams that deliver innovative, elegant, secure, high quality solutions across multiple technology stacks in a continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI/CD) environment.  This is a unique opportunity to make an impact in a fast growth organization. 

Reporting to the VP of Product Development, the Director of Product Development will be responsible for collaboration with Product Development, Product Management, Technology and Customer Success to prioritize, plan and support the successful delivery of new capabilities to the K12 market that allow Frontline Education to exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities

Key Performance Objectives:

  • Ensure alignment of Product Development initiatives with company objectives and goals.
  • Exemplify and foster a result driven culture focused on the delivery of software solutions aligned with time to market goals.
  • Ensure transparency into the development process through clear communication of objectives, timelines and status - providing KPIs that allow the business to measure success or pivot with learnings from fast feedback loops.
  • Ensure our SaaS solutions are supported by architectures that allow for rapid market expansion through breadth and depth of configuration capabilities and high performance, reliability and scalability.
  • Build, inspire, lead and support high performing teams focused on the success of each other, our partners and our customers.
  • Exemplify a ‘one team’ mindset through a laser focus on alignment and collaboration within and across organizations.
  • Foster market disruption and continuous improvement through innovation of product, process and tools.

Qualifications

The Ideal Profile:

  • Demonstrable experience. You’ve “been there, done that” when it comes to delivering SaaS solutions with large, distributed teams in an agile environment.
  • Metrics driven. Results Oriented. You have proficiency in implementing a development strategy as measured by metrics that provide transparency into the status of business objectives and goals, team health and quality trends.
  • Strong leadership. You will lead a team of highly creative and capable professionals who are passionate about their roles. Providing management and leadership to the team through performance and coaching and the communication of strategic vision to staff is exciting to you. Part of your strong leadership skills includes your ability to mobilize a team to execute from vision to production, rolling up your sleeves as necessary, and presenting to senior leadership.
  • You’re so good at collaboration, it might be your middle name. This role requires a great deal of collaboration both internally and externally. Internally, collaboration with Customer Support, Implementation, Product Management, User Experience, Technology and other Development teams will be critical to create, communicate and maintain project timelines. You possess a ‘One Team’ mindset in which success is only achieved through the success of others, both internal and external.
  • Continuous improvement mindset. Maintaining the status quo is a “no go” for you. You strive to consistently improve, and drive the transformation of people, process and technology to the next level.

 

Requirements:

  • 15+ years’ leading distributed engineering teams.
    • Experience with teams of 20+ is preferred.
    • Experience with multiple technology stacks is preferred.
    • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery models is preferred.
    • Experience leading engineering teams during a company’s growth mode is a plus.
    • Experience integrating acquired technology and engineering teams is a plus.
  • 7+ years’ working in agile environments.
    • Working knowledge of scaled agile frameworks is a plus.
  • 5+ years working is SaaS environments.
    • Experience in K-12 solutions is a plus.
  • Strong ability to drive a culture of quality and personal accountability.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
