What's the role 

We are seeking an experienced Director of Strategy to join our digital-first agency. The ideal candidate will be a data-driven and creative strategic thinker who can develop and execute innovative, integrated media strategies that drive measurable business results for our clients. We’re looking for a curious, collaborative and innovative storyteller who can dive into a client’s business and uncover the consumer-centric white space for a brand to own.

What you do

Strategic Planning & Leadership

  • Responsible for understanding client’s business objectives to provide strategic leadership and guidance
  • Responsible for finding, mining and translating data into larger insights and provocations, whether that be from business analysis and analytics or consumer research
  • Responsible for uncovering consumer problems and/or opportunities that open up white space for a brand to strategically own
  • Develop data-backed communication strategies that activate consumer insights, drive innovation for clients and provide clear roles of media that align to our core media objectives
  • Partner with planning and channel-leads throughout the plan build, ensuring the strategy and objectives are tied to the recommendation
  • Acting as the champion of the story, owning the deck and ensuring our collective output is simple and clear both visually and in narrative
  • Collaborating with the data and measurement teams to ensure we are building audience and measurement strategies that align back to our clients objectives and strategic vision
  • Drive innovation in media planning approaches, incorporating the latest industry trends and best practices
  • Responsible for presenting strategic media recommendations to senior client stakeholders
  • Lead client meetings and workshops to align on objectives and approach for cross-channel plan
  • Responsible for partnering with account leaderships to bring proactive thought leadership to the business
  • Provide support with special projects and initiatives within the strategy group, including new business
  • Provide guidance and insight about strategy practices to the wider team and departments

Client Leadership

  • Work with clients to identify business problems and challenges
  • Become an authority on the client’s business and their category
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a the day-to-day trusted advisor on media strategy
  • Provide insight and perspective on the client’s strategic direction
  • Provide proactive thought leadership on the clients’ business

Who you are

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in media, with significant experience in strategy and digital media
  • Experience & demonstrated expertise in the Technology / Telecom client industry
  • Experience working on large-scale full-funnel clients with at least $50M+ a year in media spend
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful full-funnel cross-channel media strategies
  • Deep understanding of the the media landscape, including programmatic, social, search, and emerging channels
  • Experience with audience planning and segmentation, including audience tools (GWI, MRI, YouGov, Google Insights, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of media methodology, including brand building principles and performance marketing
  • Proven experience taking complex plans and building easy-to-understand deck presentations
  • Proven achievement on a clients business or at the agency-level
  • Strong presentation and communication abilities
  • Direct management experience of at least 2+ people

 Desired Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of media measurement, including digital metrics, traditional media metrics, and attribution modeling
  • Experience with marketing technology platforms (DSPs, DMPs, attribution tools)
  • Knowledge of marketing mix modeling and multi-touch attribution
  • Experience with advanced analytics and data visualization tools
  • Experience working on local/regional clients and/or global clients
