JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to UL Solutions Chief Information Officer, the IT Director, Vendor Management, is responsible for overseeing the selection, management, and performance of IT vendors and service providers. This role ensures that vendor relationships are aligned with the company's strategic goals and that vendors deliver high-quality services and products. This role is senior position, as part of the IT Extended Leadership team, to oversee and enable the future vendor management strategy in partnership with UL Solutions' Sourcing organization and IT leadership. Focused on leading and continuously improving the ITs partnership with key vendors, the leader will also define the strategy, service offerings, and frameworks achieve organization objectives. The leader will collaborate with other IT leaders, across the Transformation & Innovation organization (Digital and Cybersecurity) as well other stakeholders to ensure alignment, drive optimization and improved vendor relationships. The IT Director will be responsible for vendor evaluation, performance monitoring, cost optimization opportunities and risk management.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement a vendor management strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives.
  • Creates a vendor management framework to evaluate partnerships and provide regular updates on upcoming renewals, opportunities for optimization and overall vendor performance.
  • Identify and evaluate potential vendors and service providers.
  • Monitor contract renewals and negotiate extensions or terminations as needed.
  • Lead the vendor selection process, including RFPs, RFIs, and vendor assessments in partnership with UL Solutions' Sourcing organization.
  • Manages a framework across the supplier network to ensure UL Solutions receives value, obligations are met and provides regular feedback on supplier performance.
  • Partners with Sourcing to negotiate supplier agreements.
  • Creates and publishes IT metrics to ensure quality, timely and consistent delivery and progress against strategy.
  • Establish and implement vendor performance metrics and KPIs.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and audits to ensure vendors meet or exceed expectations.
  • Address and resolve vendor performance issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with vendor relationships.
  • Ensure vendors comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Develop and maintain a vendor risk management framework.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure vendor services meet those needs.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams, providing regular updates on vendor performance and initiatives.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in vendor management.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance vendor management practices.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize vendor performance and value.
  • Manages the performance of direct reports by developing accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, providing career counseling, feedback and guidance and ensuring that all policies are understood and adhered to.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • University Degree Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • 10 years of experience in the IT field or related business area
  • Proven experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and performance monitoring
  • Strong knowledge of IT procurement processes and vendor management best practices
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities
  • Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments required
  • Broad experience in a wide variety of sub-functions within IT
  • Experience as a global leader with the ability to communicate/influence culturally diverse people

Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career . The estimated salary range for this position is $168,000.00 to $224,000.00 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation and long term incentive plan with a target payout of 30% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (20 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
