Ready to thrive in the next step on your career journey?

West Monroe is looking for an Application Security Architect with strong engineering skills to join our growing Technology-Cybersecurity consulting practice and resolve some of our clients’ most complex security challenges. The architect will lead conversations with client CTOs, developers, and product managers to understand their technology/SaaS environment, gather requirements, and identify areas of weakness for solution opportunities. Projects will often involve collaborating with West Monroe cybersecurity experts to design, architect, and deploy solutions and/or new processes that mitigate application security risk, prevent data leakage, and ensure development teams adhere to Secure Development Lifecycle best practices when building new products. This is a rewarding opportunity to join a growing firm and work across various industries – Private Equity, Big Tech, Healthcare, and more – while enhancing technical, advisory, and leadership skills within the AppSec space.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as technical lead/SME in assessing client software products and environments, gathering requirements, identifying vulnerabilities, and deploying solutions that enhance application security
  • Utilize adept skills with contemporary programming languages and architectures to identify software vulnerabilities at the code layer
  • Evaluate software environments to advise client CTOs, engineering leaders, and development teams on implementing scalable processes that adhere to Secure Development Lifecycle best practices
  • Lead security architecture reviews and threat modeling for mission-critical software products, business applications, and cloud services
  • Design, architect, and lead the implementation of frictionless DevSecOps and SOAR practices, processes, and tools with an automation first mindset
  • Build out AppSec departments, strategies, and protocols from the ground up for clients lacking the function in current state
  • Guide Private Equity clients, startups, and SaaS companies in developing secure products to prepare them for GTM launch or M&A purchase
  • Mentor consultant teammates to further their secure software architecture/development skills and understanding of AppSec best practices
  • Author repeatable solution strategies, methodologies, and best practices to share and standardize across Tech-Cybersecurity and contribute to the AppSec Center of Excellence

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience required
  • Consulting firm/industry experience preferred
  • ~6-15+ years of experience in secure software development, information security, or cybersecurity
  • Strong software architecture skills with experience developing full-stack applications using modern languages: C#, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, Go, etc.
  • Domain expertise in designing applications and architectures for enterprise grade systems to secure sensitive information and prevent data leakage
  • Adept skills in developing and implementing SAST, DAST, and/or IAST tooling
  • Well-versed in OWASP, Secure SDLC, DevSecOps, SOAR, and Agile development practices
  • Deep knowledge of authentication protocols such as OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, and PKI
  • Skilled in technical leadership, project management, business analysis, and requirements gathering
  • Willingness to travel for out of town client projects – COVID-19 permitting
