The mid-level Application Support Engineer, will be the interface between our users, members and the development teams, troubleshooting application support issues for our Java and Scala partner websites, internal applications and back-end programs, solving problems or working with developers to resolution.

You will triage, prioritize, and drive resolution for member issues with our partner websites, internal applications and backend systems

Work directly with Member Services to resolve member issues

Carry out root cause analysis of incidents after they’ve been resolved and work with the development team to make permanent fixes when necessary

Update our application knowledge base with new or missing information

You will become the subject-matter expert (SME) for our internal applications and share your knowledge with Product and Business Analysts, helping them understand any dependencies for new features

Work regularly with the Development Team, you will debug existing software, write fixes, and help offload developer support responsibilities

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field or;
  • A minimum of 2 years of IT experience either as a developer or a support engineer, supporting internet applications
  • Experiencing debugging web applications, researching and troubleshooting issues
  • Demonstrable knowledge of SQL scripting.
  • Experience working with Zendesk or similar ticketing tool.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and passion for working with software
  • You are a fast learner, willing and able to learn to use new tools for monitoring, debugging, troubleshooting, and communicating
  • Extra points for experience working with:
  • Java 8/Spring
  • Scala/Play
  • ZenDesk
  • New Relic
  • RedHat/Centos
  • Tomcat 6/7 web application server, and Apache web server
