Job Duties

Associate Directors for Chicago, IL. Manage IT teams for multiple software products. Lead team in a deep dive on software application and large scale data processing related issues. Develop and implement processes and standards adhering to industry best practices. Ensure integrity, reasonable response times. Collaborate with other IT leaders in discussions with end users to analyze needs and ensure IT operations and services are optimized to support business processes. Identify potential end user customer service enhancements. Evaluate Service Level Agreements (SLA) data and identify and oversee implementation of improvement opportunities. Ensure different teams work with customers on design and requirements for external facing B2B products/platform software and database issues to understand their requirements for software products, including telematics and IOT based products, to manage and deliver the products smoothly, and to promote automation, and use knowledge of technology basis of connected vehicles and device and mobile data. Plan product roadmap sessions and breakdown into manageable work portions, ensure proper software development practices are followed especially focused on software architecture, DevSecOps, continuous delivery to production. Train teams to work strategically and tactically. Lead and mentor managers. Provide direction through development plans. Supervise IT staff. Technical environment: Cloud based systems (AWS), Java, Python, Kubernetes, Docker, Amazon Web Services, Dynamo DB, EC2, S3, Lambda, Kafka, Redis, Storm, RabbitMQ, Glue ETL, Kinesis Firehose Streams, REST web services, Linux, Spinnaker, NoSQL, Javascript, Jenkins, J2EE, EJB, JDBC, JMS, SOAP Web Services, XML, scripting (including ANT), BPEL, ESB, APIs, microservices, mobile SDKs, telemetry data, Hybrid of Agile Environment.

Qualifications

*Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or any Engineering field plus two years of experience in the job offered or with software development required. Required Skills:  Experience overseeing and coaching a staff of software development professionals, partnering with architecture and interacting with customers on design and requirements.  Creating detailed design documents for telematics and IOT based products; performing code reviews and ensuring adherence to standards; developing service components required for large scale data processing; building, APIs, microservices and mobile SDKs; building and enhancing high volume scalable external facing B2B products leveraging telemetry data to support underwriting, lead generation and collision business models. Understanding of the technology basis of connected vehicles and device and mobile data. Technical knowledge and proficiency with the following technologies:  Cloud based systems such as provided by AWS, Java, Python, Kubernetes, Docker, Amazon Web Services, Dynamo DB, EC2, S3, Lambda, Kafka, Redis, Storm, RabbitMQ, Glue ETL, Kinesis Firehose Streams, REST web services, Linux, Spinnaker, Jenkins, NoSQL, Javascript, Agile. (*Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or any Engineering field plus five years of progressive experience in the job offered or with software development also acceptable.)
