Job Description:
As an Associate Engineer within Caterpillar Industrial Power Systems Division, you will be part of a cross-functional, high performing team and develop products that make our world cleaner by meeting new and existing emissions regulations. You will work with industry leading experts to solve problems and deliver high quality, compliant emissions control components and systems. You will collaborate with a global team to develop innovative solutions while strengthening your analytical skills and mastery of engineering concepts. You will contribute to the planning and delivery of projects, continually learn and stay abreast of the latest technology, and broaden your professional network.
This is an entry level position within the New Technology and Aftertreatment System team with the responsibility for development and maintenance of aftertreatment catalysts. Projects are primarily new product development and span numerous applications. A high technical proficiency and sense of urgency is required.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Contribute to the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems in the areas of aftertreatment and catalyst performance, building a reputation as an expert
- Gather and understand system requirements, evaluate technology alternatives, select catalysts
- Complete performance simulation and analyze results
- Assist with development of validation plans and work with process partners to execute testing
- Act as key point of contact and collaboration lead for substrate and coating suppliers
- Develop and maintain catalyst specifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in an accredited Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or related curriculum
- Co-op, internship, or other project experience in chemistry or chemical engineering
Top Candidates will also have:
- Masters degree in an accredited Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or related curriculum
- Catalysis and/or Engine Emissions Performance Experience
- Proficiency Matlab or SimApp and/or Python analysis and modeling
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills

• Up to 10% Travel.
