Job Summary
The Associate Quality Assurance Analyst (AQAA) is responsible for preventing product defects from affecting production and for ensuring the availability and accurate functioning of closerlook digital offerings. Activities include performing daily tests to ensure the availability and functionality of products, escalating problems; development and execution of test scripts for new products and new features; documenting and communicating bugs and errors, verifying fixes; participating in product releases and updates, and accurately estimating effort and completion dates for projects and tasks assigned to the position.
Responsibilities
Testing for Availability and Functionality
- Conducts daily tests of product availability and functionality following procedures and quickly escalates any problems or malfunctions for resolution. Where changes to the product or new product features require it, will update procedures under direct supervision.
Supports closerlook’s Agile process
- Participates in scrum meetings; through interactions with others gains a detailed understanding of scope, requirements and deliverables of assignments or tasks to be completed during each sprint; provides accurate estimate of effort and duration to complete assignments or tasks; accurately reports progress during daily standups; identifies and escalates issues affecting the personal ability or ability of others to meet commitments to seek resolution.
- Consistently completes 90% or more of agreed upon tasks during sprint; is able to work independently, requiring no more than one hour’s time daily for direct supervision.
Quality Control Testing
- Plans and executes test scripts for new product features or enhancements. Documents bugs or defects in a manner enabling them to be corrected. Verifies fixes and confirms that other product features have not been affected by fixes.
- Identifies and documents 90% of customer affecting defects before they leave the QA test environment through direct and regression testing.
- Conducts cross-browser compatibility testing and functional web testing on Windows, Macintosh and Android operating systems on desktop computers and mobile devices.
Release Management
- Participates in releases of new products or features by conducting testing and completing work as required to meet release schedules.
Qualifications and Skills
This position requires 1-2 years of relevant experience. Good computer skills and familiarity with Internet and cloud-based solutions required; basic math and strong grammatical skills are also necessary. Demonstrable experience with coding (such as in creating websites or Wordpress even as a hobby) is highly desirable.
