Description
The Core Autonomy Team has responsibility for delivering operator assist, semi-autonomous, and autonomous technology for mining and construction machines around the world to increase safety and productivity. As a Software Developer, you will have the opportunity to research and develop autonomous systems. This includes but is not limited to developing embedded software for ECMs and creating perception sensor algorithms. You will have the opportunity to grow as an engineer and help contribute to our future platforms and feature delivery.
Job Duties
As a software developer, your responsibilities include but not limited to,
Engaging in the design, development and testing of safety-critical software
Analyzing and incorporating sensing technologies such as radar, vision, GPS to support operator assistance features
Research and develop advanced driver assistance systems for mining and construction applications
Develop embedded C/C++ software in a Linux environment
Hands on development including algorithm development, sensor integration, data collection, system integration, troubleshooting, and field testing
Integration of software features taken from models and libraries to create software flash files
Integration of configuration and calibration data
Test plan development and software validation
Identification and resolution of software defects
Participate in Software Code reviews
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Robotics, or a related field
3+ years of experience in software development with C/C++ and object oriented principles
Familiarity with running, operating and debugging in a Linux environment
Hands on experience using configuration management tools for version control and maintainability of software
Strong communication, organization, analytic and problem solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse team
Experience with software dev tools such as Git, debuggers, and compilers
Top Candidates will also have
Exposure to ROS & AIS
AGILE development exposure
Experience with autonomous vehicles
Experience developing advanced driver assistance systems
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of Ethernet and CAN protocols
Understanding of remote sensing systems such as Radars, Cameras, GPS and Vehicle to Vehicle Communications Systems
Experience applying technology in off road applications
Experience with machine learning and classification, exposure to deep learning frameworks
Industry experience implementing perception algorithms for detection, tracking, segmentation, pose estimation.
Additional Information
The location for this position is Pittsburgh, PA or Mossville, IL
Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Any relocation costs incurred would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
This position may require 10% travel
