What you’ll bring:

  • Good proficiency level working with one major programming language(C or C++ preferred but not required)
  • Good proficiency working experience of Unix/Linux command/shell script
  • Working knowledge with database and SQL Script
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science (or a related field) and 2+ years of working experience in programming development OR 4+ years of working experience in programming development
  • Must achieve qualifying scores upon training completion in proprietary systems. 
  • Must have a basic understanding of the SDLC and implementation

Impact you’ll make:  

Come join a high energy, fast paced team in Customized Model Development.  Our team creates customized data models for TransUnion internal and external customers to allow them to assess consumer credit risk on a customer or batch level.  Sr. Technical Analyst is accountable for complex coding, testing, and implementation of customer requirements translated through low level design into the various fulfillment applications. Sr. Technical Analyst will also support cross departmental efforts through working with Batch Credit Services, ADS, Credit Vision, Insurance, STS, and other internal TransUnion departments as work dictates.

  • Using basic credit knowledge; review customer specification and business objectives to confirm project scope and understanding prior to model development.  Where applicable, offer solutions and feedback to achieve customer objectives.  Is able to fully assess downstream impacts of model development work and coordinate with management to mitigate risks.  Facilitate specification reviews with customer and technical resources for basis design projects.
  • Assimilate specifications with low level model design to ensure that architected solution meets customer objectives.
  • Coding: Under limited supervision, develop complex C-code for batch and online model solutions within assigned effort and turn time estimates.  Ensures high level of quality in all work performed.  Learns and uses available tools to support code development.  Facilitates and participates in peer reviews as assigned.  Understands the process behind code walkthroughs and challenges peers when necessary. Adheres to all departmental and industry coding standards while providing input and insights on potential new standards.  Modifies code as needed based on feedback from Quality Assurance validations. 
  • Testing: Performs unit testing on developed code and volume testing using custom or standard input data.  Executes and creates functional test cases fully supporting the Quality Assurance team testing functions.
  • Analysis: Creates necessary materials for turnover to Quality Assurance team.  Assist with the analysis of test results to ensure that programs are meeting the technical and customer requirements.  Documents test results that do not meet test expectations.
