Key Accountabilities

• Streamline team goals to improve interpersonal dynamics and maximize efficiency while driving a strong team culture
• Establish engineering KPIs to ensure engineering standards and best practices are met
• Translate challenges in the context of the business’ success to explain crucial needs with a solution-oriented approach
• Implement best practices and scalable growth models for Engineering, QA, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams
• Lead cross-functional communication across all lines of business by communicating critical technical challenges to non-technical business members to ensure alignment
• Maximize system security and network effect of our business
• Recruit, mentor, and lead the top 1% of technical staff in Chicago
• Optimize the use of modern development practices, including, but not limited to: microservices, docker, continuous deployment
• Maintain and build our growth strategy and scalability around the data model in our business
• Remove roadblocks to ensure best in class product delivery

Requirements & Preferred Skills

• Must be able to travel up to 25% on short notice
• Master’s-level engineering degree and MBA, preferred
• 10+ years of experience leading fast-growth engineering teams
• Experience working with fast-growth technology company, strongly preferred
• Experience working with a SaaS product
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture
• Ability to be strategic and roll up your sleeves to accomplish what needs to be done
• Highly organized with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as necessary
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
