Job Description
If you have serious experience with building and running high-performing corporate applications and infrastructure, then we want you to be the new Solution Architect for Cloud Automation who will help our clients leverage Microsoft Azure to migrate, build, and run enterprise applications in the cloud.
You will be responsible for helping our clients improve their efficiency and effectiveness using modern technologies and techniques. You will take our customers to the next level of velocity and agility by implementing and championing the principles of CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code. We are looking for someone who is passionate about using cloud technology to solve business challenges and relishes in developing solutions that are truly solutions. Responsibilities
As Cloud Automation Solution Architect at 10th Magnitude you will take personal ownership of the technical envisioning, scope, and goals of sales pursuits. In this role, a passion for helping clients succeed in the cloud is required, as is a cross-functional background with good infrastructure and applications knowledge. You will also shepherd the projects you envision and sell into the delivery phase, and remain engaged with your portfolio of projects as our rock star infrastructure engineers, software architects, and DevOps consultants bring them to fruition. A team of 2-4 delivers typical projects over the course of 2-4 months. Your responsibilities will include:

• ·Pre-sales Leadership. Work with our outstanding Business Development team to identify challenges our services can solve, scope and estimate projects that address those challenges, and close the deal.
• Lead Assessment Engagements. Using 10th Magnitude’s proprietary Cloud Readiness Assessment model, lead projects that help clients review their existing portfolio of applications, determine cloud compatibility, perform cost / benefit analysis, and build application migration and modernization roadmaps.
• Agile Requirements Definition. Collaborate with clients to define requirements and translate them into user stories. Add vision to the project along the way.
• Technical Architecture. Translate requirements into a technical design with an eye toward leveraging existing tools, services and frameworks.
• Thought Leadership & Knowledge Management. You will help digest the flood of incoming information regarding new Azure features, development methodologies, libraries, tools, etc. to help our clients—and our team—stay ahead of the curve.
• Microsoft Partnership Enhancement. Deepen our technical relationship with Microsoft by cultivating new and existing relationships to drive additional sales. Collaborate with the product team, and help manage our application development competency

Qualifications:

• A passion for problem solving and learning new technologies
• 5+ years experience with infrastructure automation tools (CFEngine, Chef, Ansible, Puppet).
• 2+ years experience as an Architect
• 5+ years Application Development/Modernization OR System administration and engineering experience (Linux or Windows operating systems; experience with mixed environments a plus).
• Well versed in Internet architectures, including web, application, and database components.
•  Knowledge of infrastructure automation through DevOps scripting and configuration management required; and strong practical Linux and Windows-based systems administration skills in a Cloud or Virtualized environment required;
•  Knowledge of modern technology service architectural hosting, security, and risk management concerns such as IAM, access control, monitoring, IaaS/PaaS/SaaS, and containers
• Thorough understanding of configuration management concepts.
• Expertise with system automation scripting (Ruby preferred).
• Experience using Infrastructure as Code techniques and tools, such as Cucumber, serverspec, or minitest.
• Solid understanding of systems monitoring, alerting and analytics.
• Ability to name at least two great blogs, podcasts, or newsletters about DevOps, configuration automation, or cloud computing that we havent heard of yet.
• Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as a Service technologies (Amazon EC2, Windows Azure, etc.).
• Bonus: Experience using git, SVN, or other version control systems.
